(Christmas) Lights, Decorations, Action ..A Post-Christmas PTR (update 12/22-page 42)

I received a great pin code via email yesterday for travel at the end of 2011. We are trying to decide between the following dates: Nov 26 - Dec. 3, or Dec. 10 - Dec. 17. The week in between is not included in the offer.

Which week will be the best? We plan to stay at Wilderness Lodge and don't want to miss the Christmas decorations and events (Candlelight Processional and Storytellers in EPCOT, gingerbread houses in resorts, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, etc.).

Well right around now Marv should be getting ready to leave !! Kathy it is your turn for the next part of The Marv TR hosted by Rosie and Kathy !!!

I will however add a few more questions for the Trip

1. How many wooden spoons did Marv take ? Sorry, but those are all used. Who wants to take used stuff with them to Disney??? The goal was to locate what I needed after I arrived.....
2.How many times did he have/need GAS? Let's just say I needed it every time I "had" it.
3. Who will he pick on first??????

It doesn't matter who is first.....as long as you end up getting some Marv love by the end!!! (no spoon pun intended)

1) Will Marv and gang arrive at the right resort? Or will Marv, as he is getting older, get confused and go to the resort that they are actually staying at in June 2011?

It is all about focus!!! If you focus on where you are going, you don't have to worry about getting lost. Always focus, focus, focus!!!!

(Now what were we talking about again??? Oh yes, cameras...)

2) Will they make the Magic Kingdom after they FINALLY check in at the resort or will they end up elsewhere?

Or maybe even all of the above??? Inquiring minds want to know......

3) Will Marv carry his wooden spoons in his backpack while touring the park?

No carrying backpacks into the park. You have to stop and have them searched, which just slows down your park time! Besides, I was worried Disney may have adopted the latest airport TSA policies, and who wants security fondling their, uh, spoons???

I think they will arrive at the right resort, after putting it in their GPS and being directed in to the wrong parking lot 3 times before they stop listening to the "Garmin Lady" I have no idea why this scenario comes to mind - it has never happened to us

Okay, we HAVE to hear this story!!!!

I think they will definitely make MK - Running in Slow Mo ala National Lampoon's Vacation - waving the spoons, which are not in his backpack, in case he needs to stop and do a quick demo for inquiring minds.

On our last trip we got in at 10pm or so - had a little trouble at the car rental window because we hadn't actvitated Jim's Visa. By the time we were on the road it was 11:15 - So we're a little rattled, we had a new Garmin so we decided to use that to find SSR. Everything was fine until we were at the last light. The Garmin lady said, "turn right!" So Jim turned right into another resort parking lot. So somehow he came out on the other side, went the wrong direction, turned around at the request of the GL. Somehow we ended up back in the parking lot again! Okay, Listen to ME!!! When she says "turn right" it is to give you time to know you're going to turn - GO DOWN THAT STREET!" We make it to SSR, and drove past it, because Jim was sure we shouldn't turn in to that golf course! Ummm, this is a GOLF resort. We finally made it after much grumblling on Grumpy's part. He should learn to listen to the DISer, not the GL!

So when is this TR going to start????

1. This is a tough call... on the hand, Marv's digestive tract (and his family) will need a break from places like Flame Tree, and get some plain roasted chicken in. But on the other hand, the effects might have proven so odious, that even Sunny Eclipse might ask that he find an alternative dining establishment.

He did keep looking at me funny......

2. Do rattlesnakes make good bed partners?

We'll have to ask your DH........ (rimshot)

3. His wife. Marv will be too busy selling his autographs to make money to bribe security to let him back in after getting thrown out for sticking his hand in the water in Small World.

It wasn't my hand. They were afraid the spoon might be contaminated! Don't think it had anything to do with where I carried it though......

I think instead of throwing him out, they would tie him to a boat and make him go through IASW over and over until he is singing along so loudly he is scaring small children. That'll teach him!

I am so glad that the weather is finally getting warmer for you! Lots of pictures sounds great and I hope you will enjoy the rest of your trip!!

The decorations were still up on our final day, but sadly the Storytellers were already gone. Didn't get to hear all of them, but we did catch some really good ones!

Last DAY!?? How fast that sure went! Personally, I'm glad you saved the best for last!

It was a really good last day, at least for those of us who got to stay and enjoy it........

1. No, I'm afraid Marv will mistake his wooden spoon for the Kimunicator and not get very far.

So THAT'S why the boys always finished the mission and I never could.....

2. Yes!! because Marv will figure out that although his wooden spoon does not make a very good Kimunicator, it does make a VERY good "paddle" to get one's family to Le Cellier.

First of all, Scott! Good to have you on board with us! Just ignore the insanity around here. It is really hard to control some of these people!

Best I can tell most of the special Christmas events begin right after Thanksgiving and run at least until December 30th, so either date should probably work! All other things being even my personal choice would be the 12/10-17 week just to be on the safe side.

You may want to check when they are taping for the Christmas parade that shows on TV since the crowds are heavier then, but I'm guessing that is the week they won't let you use the Pin code since they already are packed.
