Hello well it's that time again when I start stressing over Christmas and what to get my girls . These girls have a lot of family that buys for them also and I never have ideas. They are very down to earth kids and are not high maintenance yet(thank God) what are the go to Christmas gifts? Thanks!!!

at that age, mine liked legos (they now have a castle, I think), crafts (anything from Michaels--learn to sew kits, paint sets, clay, etc.), scooters, barbies (esp. Disney princesses), pillow pets, build-a-bear, simple board games, American girl/doll stuff (at 7+). For under 7, I got Target or Michael's knock-off AG dolls and clothing. Target hair gets matted, but they often go on sale for $20 or so--for a 5 yr old, I'd rather pay $20. After the hair gets all matted, I put into braids and tell them it has to stay that way.

My oldest DD is 5... will be 6 come New Year's Eve. For Christmas she's getting a WiiU and the Disney Infinity game as her big gift. We've also got her some My Little Pony toys, some crafts, some board games & lots of books now that she's learning to read herself and is starting to like me reading chapter books to her at night.

For her birthday I'm rehabbing two American Girl dolls I got for cheap and turning them into Anna & Elsa dolls. I've had the dolls stashed away for about a year now, all I need to do is buy a red wig for one (that needed a new wig anyways) and the appropriate dresses for them both. As for other presents, whatever I don't give her from the above list for Christmas, she'll get for her birthday.

A little tougher at 5, but by age 7 my daughter loved to get 'services' as much as things to open (plus you can wrap a gift card in a cute way) - like for a kiddie spa place or Build-A-Bear or a favorite restaurant or an art/craft class.
Books are a good choice.
Jewelry.
Any kind of craft kits or art supplies were a biggie for us, too. My SIL did a huge craft bin for her girls with material remnants, trims, glitter glue, buttons, fabric paint, etc. that went over smashingly!

What do your girls like? My DD will be 5 in December. We have been working on her Christmas/Birthday wish list, which I keep an updated version on Amazon for friends and family to know what she likes/wants. I update year round.

Her list consists of Scooby Doo figurines, Minnie Mouse vanity, cash register, dress up trunk (I got some cute stuff at the thrift store!), Superman costume, Those Marvel mashups (she LOVES Justice League so is very into these characters right now), the Ariel Lego Friends set, the Brave Lego Friends set, My Little Pony Friendship Rainbow Kingdom playset, and just about everything that she sees at Disneystore.com. And I am sure she will add more to it.

I have four kids so by now we have everything we need. Last year we chose to get the younger kids (then 3, 5, 7) board games, puzzles, Legos, books and clothes. My 3 year old didn't get much and she didn't even notice. No electronic toys, video games or "must have toy of the season". No junky little toys that we used to buy to make it look like more. Our family got on board too and it was the best Christmas ever.

They're not my kids, but I have a bunch of girls that age to buy for and this is what I'm thinking this year:

My Target has started carrying some really cool stuff by smaller companies. I was there yesterday and they had some cool Crafty stuff and some really cool science stuff (it was in the toy section, but on a back endcap, kind of hidden away from the brand name stuff). That's what I'll be getting the girls on my list of that age.

Last year I did Kiwi crate. It's a subscription service (or you can order just 1, but the subscription might be fun) and once a month (for however long you pick) they send a box of fun. My son, for instance, got a pirate box that came with a bandana to decorate, a pirate, a pirate hat to make, a treasure box to decorate and stuff to make a treasure map (maybe some other stuff, too).

Bags or totes to organize their craft things/small toys in?

At that age I took both my nieces for a "date" for their gifts. One on one. I took them to dinner then we did a show, or shopping (where they picked something out) or something along those lines. They liked the one on one time with me.

I like the Goldie Blox building toys. All things Anna and Elsa (the biggest thing on the list this year is "tall Elsa coronation dress" which means the Barbie size Elsa with coronation dress; if $20 is the biggest item she's looking for, we're getting off easy!).

Board games and books are great around here, too. Older niece has an American Girl doll, so I found some girl/doll matching clothes at Kohl's on clearance. They seem to have the nightgown sets in stores and the outfits online.

4yo wants a Lego Friends forest set and I'm thinking I might get her a Easy Bake oven. She loves cooking and I've heard you can make your own mixes instead of buying the $$$$ ones.

Our 7yo LOVES the little animals that come in tubes. They're about $6 with a coupon at Joanne's, etc. She hasn't made a list, so I'm not sure what else for her, but she'll get one of those in her stocking for sure.

Crazy Clingz. I feel like every year they beg for something like this. First year it was the pillow pets, then the light-up pillow-pets, then the pet that had the pockets, and now... these. At least these go on the wall, instead of adding to the mountain of stuffed animals on her bed!
