Christmas Gift and Shirts

2 Questions

1) We just purchased DVC and we are going to suprise our 8 year old with it for Christmas. He is a huge Disney fan but I am not sure how to go about presenting it to him so if anyone has ideas I would love to entertian them. Our first DVC trip is in January.

2) Has anyone ever made DVC shirts for their trip I wanted to make some matching family shirts so if anyone has photo's I would love to see them

I'm not too sure how an 8 year old is going to react to DVC. My 7 year old couldn't care less. My son is concerned with how or why we go to disney just simply that we go. He wouldn't get it if I explained that the reason we go so often is because we own DVC. Check out the DISigns board for help with the shirts. The people will gladly make a design for you that you can print out on transfers and make your own shirts. I just made a bday t shirt for DH today.

Thanks for the feedback but our 8 year old actually walks around saying DVC DVC because he knows what it is and he wants it.

How many times has he been to Disney? I would give him Birnbaum's Disneyworld For Kids By Kids book, the current free Vacation Planning DVD or the current DVC DVD, maybe something with the logo of the resort you're staying at in January (you can call and have items sent to you), like a pin or sweatshirt or both, ...add in a couple of balloons to pop out of the box!

Hey, if you DS doesn't like it he can regift it to me.
I think the suggestion of merchandise from the resort you purchased is a great idea. Also, you could buy your passes ahead of time & put his in with the merchandise. Maybe a postcard of the resort too. Whatever you decide, enjoy. BTW, my oldest were 12 (the youngest < 1yr) when we purchased and the preteens were soooo excited. We immediately began planning when they graduate hs they could each bring a friend or 2 and we'd let them stay in a GV. Mission accomplised this past June. That experience alone was worth the dvc membership. (dh, myself & dd5 stayed in a studio).
