Christmas Eve dining

Do many of the restaurants do special Christmas Eve menus? I’m guessing they do but has anyone who has experienced a good meal can you make a recommendation?

I've not been on Christmas Eve, but this Disney Food Blog post includes info from last year and will presumably be updated. Are you looking for something "traditional" (I believe La Luce in the Bonnet Creek resort area does the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes) or just a good meal in general that feels festive? If the latter, I'd suggest dinner at one of the resorts that goes all out for decor - maybe Citricos or Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian or Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The problem with "traditional" and Christmas is that there really isn't one set "tradition" for that meal. Some people do the same as so-called traditional Thanksgiving (I'm still waiting for a traditional menu to have venison, seal, nuts, and berries which is much closer to what it probably was than turkey and dressing), some do fish, some do lasagna, some do roast beef, some do ham... It would be so hard to do something "traditional" Christmas without a good % or people saying "That's not my tradition."

Wow a feast of the seven fishes! As an Italian that’s right up my alley. Have you done this? Is it good?

Our tradition is to eat only “gifts from the sea” on Christmas Eve so eating at Flying Fish settled into being our norm.
Consistently well prepared meal with peaceful surroundings although my last visit in July, the scallops were overly salted. Fortunately, a new order was put in immediately and it was fine.
Just to point out they have never over cooked the salmon (I’m looking at you, Narc!) nor have they ruined my appetite by giving me the bums rush, not once but twice ( yeah, that’s your ears burning, blue zoo, and I’m done with you)

Now that rant is over(lol) I would check the menus of the various Italian and French eateries throughout WDW. It’s common to eat fish on CE so they may have a special menu. Enzo and Maria’s at DS would be a good place to look of the top of my head.
Have fun and enjoy.

What we have done in the past is that we have done the Candlelight processional on Christmas Eve. Usually we eat at France if we do that.
Your tradition is similar to our recent past: see CP outside the theatre sitting on the benches near Regal Eagle then eat at Flying Fish on CE. This year we’ll have a Disney newbie in our midst so actually sitting and eating via the CP tickets on CE. Chose La Crèperie as the eatery simply because I’ve never been and it intrigues. Always enjoyed Chefs though.
Have fun out there!

We are doing CP on Christmas Eve as well and lunch at La Creperie. We have eaten there in the past and enjoyed it. It’s nothing gourmet but we love the savory crepes and they are huge! I don’t know what they are doing for Christmas Eve menu yet but usually for $39.95 (it went up 8 think it was $35). You get soup or salad a Galette (savory crepe) and a dessert crepe along with a hard cider, side or juice! Very reasonable for the amount of food they give. They even have suggested every time we have been to split it between 2 because it’s a lot of food. Look it’s not a signature dining experience but it’s quite good. We chose that so we can have a reasonable meal with the CP ticket and we like to eat around in the booths during the festival

This will be our first meal there and I hope I’m not making a mistake. I think based on my experiences at other France Pavilions eateries they’ll be able to pull off the galettes; your assurances help🙂.

We have very much enjoyed it for a lighter meal. Like I said it’s no gourmet sit down but what they make is very good and fresh. We went once on a lark and enjoyed it so much when we want a quicker lower cost meal we go and have been like 5 times. If your expectation is for like a higher end experience this won’t be for you. I think of it as like a Via Napoli of crepes. They only do crepes and do do them well. I do hope you enjoy it. However I think for the price it’s worth it especially for the CP package. If I want to do something like Le Cellier I would do that on my own and not pay the premium for the CP at Le Cellier. The next night we are doing Monsieur Paul. We have done that a few times and that is excellent
