I tried to take some photos of the castle at night and the new Enchanted Fairytale Ceremony while we were there recently but my camera isn't good enough to get good ones of the castle with all its lights and I didn't manage to get near enough to the front to get good bright photos of the EFC without someone's head in the way. If anyone who's going soon has a really good camera please post the piccies as it's all so beautiful and I really want some really good photos. I'm sure Joel (http://joel.serre.online.fr/dlp) will put some on his website or photosmagiques (www.photosmagiques.com) will when their website's back up. If anyone comes across any on any websites, please let me know!!! Thank you!

Di, that's a shame although I think that even with a good camera it is quite hard to get a good photograph without a tripod.
Look foward to seeing any that are posted :)

Thanks Reid. I was really pleased with the "normal" pictures I took - nice and sharp - but, as you say, it's hard to get good photos of specialist shots without all the paraphernalia - I'm a "point-and-shoot" sort of a photographer!!! :rotfl:

Hi Di - was it the Kodak DX you took along? I find it is pretty lousy at night shots with lots of artificial light :( but the daytime shots come out wonderfully. I was just wondering - have you tried changing it to the "fireworks" mode? I tried this at WDW in August - it took the camera a while to take each picture, but they came out a treat!

No, I hadn't thought of that Frances. Thank you - I really should try different settings but by the time I've got the manual out and read it the moment's passed and I can never remember without looking at the book. I tend to always keep it on the same setting I'm afraid as I'm not very technical!!! :rotfl:

Looks like we need someone to post on the photo tips here as my night time shots could be better :teeth:

Ooh yes please. I have had to buy a new camera because my old one expired. I specifically asked for one that could cope with the nighttime parade and fireworks and was going to try it out on the fireworks display we went to on Guy Fawkes night. Unfortunately it was due to rain that night so I didn't risk taking it. Any tips would be great. :goodvibes

Hi Folks

Afew weeks ago I was asking about cameras on here and a few people came up with some really good tips and advice.
In the end I opted for a handycam. I wanted something that would take a picture immediately ( DS is a trampolinist and so a digital camera was too slow to capture the moment ) I also wanted something that would be good for pics of parades and fireworks at DLP.
A couple of still cameras were recommended and we may well get one next time but after weighing up all the pros and cons I decided to go for a video camera. We now have a Sony HC19E and so far I am sooooooo pleased with it. It takes still photos exactly the moment that you press the button so actually am able to take action shots of DS. I am really pleased with the computer picture and movie maker that was included with it - very simple and easy to use but I guess not good enough for the real camera enthusiast but great for someone who is clueless about these things ( like me ) I will be trying it out at DLP over Christmas so hopefully I will be pleased with it then too.
I tried a Panasonic handycam to start with but I couldn't get it sussed so got the Sony instead slightly more expensive but worth the extra pennies

I was thinking about you last night Dee as you've hadn't posted for over a week. Glad to see you're still about! You don't actually have a life outside of this board, do you??????????????????????????????????:earseek:

Put it this way our DS has a life and his life keeps us very hectic - still, keeps us young. ( I think )
