Do the ships get decorated in December for Christmas? We will be on the Dec 4th sailing, and I was curious if we will have decorations.

Other people that have cruised during your time have said the x-mas decorations have been up. Make sure to take lots and lots of pictures!

We went on the Wonder the Sunday right after Thanksgiving and the ship was fully decorated. On that cruise, they had a tree lighting ceremony with all the Characters and Florida "Snow"in the atrium the first night. I would imagine they do that the first night of every cruise during the holiday season. The decorations are great and really add to an already beautiful ship.

The decorations are GORGEOUS.... You are in for quite a treat!
The atrium is beautiful with a huge X-mas tree and one eveing it "snows" with the characters in their Christmas/Holiday duds. There is even a Christmas Tree on the top of the ship outside! It's a great time of the year (and my favorite) to cruise, you will have a great time!

Hygiene99...Do you have any idea how hard that picture was to take holding on!:jester:

Our last Disney Magic cruise was the week after Thanksgiving of 2001. They began putting up the Christmas decorations that week. They had a tree lighting ceremony while everyone sang Christmas carols and pictures with the characters dressed in holiday attire.

They even built a people-sized Gingerbread House out of real gingerbread during the whole week we were there. Every day there was more done "magically" overnight. (Sometimes we caught the guy building it if we were up very late).

It truly is a magical holiday experience!

Oooh! My DH and I are going on the Dec 4th cruise, too (first time cruise ever). I didn't even think about Christmas decorations! How wonderful!

Thanks for the info, sounds like it will be a beautiful time to go!

inkkognito, thanks for the link, it was fun to look at the pictures!

Rebd40,I can't wait till our cruise, this will also be our first cruise ever, hope you have a ****magical time*****!

For those that cruised in late November and December, how was the weather? Was it warm enough to swim at CC? Could you sleep with your verandah door open?

We are looking at a late November or week before Christmas cruise.

Thanks for your input!!

The weather the week we were there (11/24-12/1/01) was EXCELLENT!

Oh, yes, warm enough to swim at Castaway Cay, etc. The air temp was perfect, in the 80's, but not so humid and stifling as it tends to be at other times of year. Of course, it was the last week of hurricane season, but no storms were in sight.

Have a wonderful time! We leave in 5 weeks for the Western. Can't wait!!!:D

P.S. You probably can sleep with the verandah door open, but due to my love of A/C, I myself wouldn't.

FOJMO,

Have a great time on your trip and thanks for your reply. I noticed that you are DVC members. Where is your "home"? We are members at BWV.

Just out of curiosity, do you find it better to use points for your cruises or cash? When I looked at it, it seemed better to rent our points and pay cash.

Thanks!:D
