Christmas day crowds

I understand that MK fills up early on Christmas day and the park is then closed. Do they usually repoen by late afternoon or early evening. Also, do resort guests or AP holders have a better chance of being admitted?

The MK does normally close at capacity early in the day on Christmas, and while it's likely they'll reopen in the afternoon (usually after the parade), it's not a given. If you MUST be in MK on Christmas Day, you're still better off getting there early.

Resort guests have a better chance of getting in if they've started the closing procedure. There are several levels -- close parking lot, close to non-resort guests, close to all. AP holders who are staying off property don't get any extra benefit.

We are going from 12/27 to 1/4. Are there other days that the park might close and which ones?

I visited Magic Kingdom on Christmas day 2002, and I drove up in my car at 2pm, and they let me in, didn't say a word to me. The parking lot was not completely full, although more full than usual, and when I got to the turnstyles at about 2:15 or 2:30, I was let right in, no signs or castmembers turning people away. I had heard that earlier in the day they had closed for a couple hours, but by sometime early afternoon they were open again. I was in different parks for the few days following, but didn't hear about any more being closed. Maybe just a slower Christmas week? Hope this helps.

That whole week between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest time of the year at WDW. I'd be prepared for MK to close at capacity every day, and quite possibly MGM as well. DAK and Epcot seldom reach capacity, so no worries there. Once you hit Jan 2, things ramp down quite a bit and you shouldn't have any troubles, although it will still be crowded.
