We are trying to plan for our next trip to wdw. We have been going to wdw every other year for the past 10 years. We have been there at different times of the year except for christmas. Does anyone have any suggestions on when is the best time to go.? We live in california and have annual passes to Disneyland and we all love christmas there. Is WDW better at Christmas time?

pirate: We too have been to WDW several times over the years as well as DL in California even during the X-mas season and in my opinion the best time to go to WDW for the Christmas holidays is in either right after Thanksgiving or in early December before the Christmas rush which in our experiences have been the week before Christmas and into the New Year. We're going this year from Dec.3rd-8th and will be going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for 2 nights on the 4th and the 6th.. It really is a GREAT time to go in my honest opinion. Granted with all the events that surround the "World ", these days, there really isn't a quite time like there used to be in the late 80's or 90's but there still is that slow down period after Thanksgiving until the week that straddles Christmas vacation. Hope this helps, Chip.

 We love "Christmas" at Disney!!!!! :cheer2: The best time to go crowd-wise is the week after Thanksgiving. Christmas festivities are in full gear and the crowds are pretty darn low. The weather is fickle but we have always been lucky enough to fit in a swim on a warm day. The closer you get to the 25th, the thicker the crowds! Don't forget to stop in Downtown Disney and see Santa as well - he's real and puts mall Santa's to shame!!! ;) Hope this helps! Have a great time planning. :earsgirl:

I agree with the previous posters. The best time to go is the first part of December. We have done it several times and have loved it!! We have also gone a couple times over Christmas and it is not the best time to go, in our opinion. Very crowded, long waits, we went to the parks before Christmas day and did other things from the 25th until we left on the 31st.

The weather can be a challenge, as was previously stated. You should take clothes for all types of weather.

Have a great time if you go then!
