My question is, have any of you been to Disney for Christmas & if so, what have you done ON Christmas Day? Would you have any restaurant recommendations for such a special holiday? Would you know what time any of the Disney parks close on that day?

Thanks for your help!!

Hi Rose!

Although I havnen't been to Disney on Christmas I would still recommend Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom for dinner. Its wonderful with all you can eat served at your table. You get turkey and ham and steak....and wonderful cornbread stuffing along with mashed potatoes, one veggie, macaroni and cheese, a wonderful salad and hot rolls with honey butter. It is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!

We've gone & in fact it's really the only time we'll go now.

The parks are playing carols & christmas style Disney tunes. All the parks are decorated to the hilt. It's such a special feeling that just can't be felt any other time of year.

It's cool, but not cold. I'd bring at least one pair of shorts, but also pack a sweater. The parks usually close around 9 or 10pm (but the way things are going they may close at 5pm , but that's another topic...) & MK is usually open until midnight on Christmas Day.

I highly recommend Cindy's for Christmas dinner. They don't serve wine, which does take away alot from the meal, but the prime rib is phenominal.

One warning though: doing so will spoil you & going any other time of the year won't be nearly as enjoyable. We went once during July & cut the trip short & decided to go back during Christmas.

We went December 17-26 in 1999 and December 27-January 3 in 2001-2002. On Christmas day 1999, we (and half the world) went to MK. It was magical.

You guys are just great! I couldn't wait to get on line this morning to check out if I had any replies to my post!

To my friend "Beauty" (which you truly are), thanks so much for your suggestion. I had completely forgotten about Liberty Tree Tavern. We had dinner there once & we loved it. I'll see if my DH wants to make ressies there (if there are any available that is) for Christmas day. Thanks & many hugs to you. How are things going with the move? Are you helping your mom pack too? :p

Dear Jeff in BigD, Cindy's Castle....hmmm....that would just be too magical! Maybe we'll do an early lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern & a late dinner at Cindy's! WOW..what a thought!!! Thanks so much for your great idea!

Thanks lilboo, I'll see if I can access that thread you suggested. I haven't been on the boards for quite a while now so I've missed a lot. Hopefully, I will catch up with all that I've missed. Especially my old friends!

Please keep your suggestions coming!
