Christmas and New Years, A Disney Bride's Family of 4! My PTR 12/26-01/03, POR...

Looks like everything is really coming together! I want to do the baggie plan for clothes too! Question: How far ahead in sizes are you buying clothes for Meika? I want to start working on things for Aileen and I just cannot figure that out.

Looking forward to your road trip ideas! Traveling with our littlest munchkin is always very stressful for me! She's a great car rider but I still worry!

So free shipping on disneyshopping this weekend for labor day and the stinkin zip up hoodie I want to get for meika well the pop up to customize it is not working properly so I can't order it. WHat the heck it better fix itself soon!!

Well with the clothing for Meika I am a little bit worried about it, but try not to think of it too much. She will have just turned 7 months when we go on the trip so I am getting her 6 month clothing (the next size is 9 months and I am figuring that will be too big). I just know there won't be too much summerish clothing in the stores when it gets closer so I am trying to get things that are on sale right now. I hope it works out otherwise I have some major wardrobe fixing for her in December!!

My daughter wore 6 month stuff right up until she turned 9 months old, so that makes sense to me. Hopefully everything works out perfectly for you.

Free shipping on Disney shopping you say?? That is not good news! Off to check it out! ;)

Road Trips with Little Ones...

So I am posting what I have thought of so far and then I hope to hear all of your ideas!!!

Ok I am putting a large disney canvas bag together with lots of activities for Bella. My thoughts are to introduce these things to her one at a time spread out through the day.

SO far it will include...

*a small box with lock (bella loves keys and trying to open things) and these will be inside:

Nuts and bolts to screw and unscrew, I am hoping this keeps her busy for a long while!!

*Ziploc with a small plastic tray, playdough, and xmas plastic cookie cutters

*Ziploc with peg board and pegs

*aquadoodle (she is asking for xmas)

*snacks (of course)

*magnet book (I found them at a craft store here its a magnetic book with pages of scenes and magnet characters to place on them) I am still thinking which one to get her. An animal one or transportation one.

*I also purchased a toy story magic marker travel color set for her and an additional color book with mickey mouse clubhouse, and pooh characters.

*Quiet time activity book (includes velcro, buttons, zips, snaps and so on)

*I also bought a toy story lunch bag on sale at Target which I am going to fill up with little toys she can play with (maybe some thomas trains or tostory figurines, haven' t decided yet)

We will also be purchasing a strap to the headrest portable DVD player and bringing along some of her favorite videos including: Thomas and Friends, Diego, Backyardagins, Cailou, All 3 toy storys (and we are hoping to get her interested in a couple other pixar movies like nemo possibly). I will give her some headphones, snuggle her up in her quilt and hope for the best!!

Here is the travel tray we are hoping to get...

I will also be putting together some of her favorite music and theme songs on an ipod with headphones and see how long she will be able to handle this. I am still thinking about this one because she will have no idea how to work it, hmmm this is sounding like a crazy idea...a 2 year old with my ipod, not so sure about this anymore. Maybe I will put something together we all can listen to...She loves soul sister by train, you've got a friend in me from toy story, and johnny cash.

Installment #2 of Road Trips with little ones focusing on entertainment for Meika will be my next post, stay tuned...popcorn::

Wow, your plans are really coming together nicely. :thumbsup2 The photos of the girls are adorable. Sounds like you've had a great summer. My kiddos went back to school yesterday, and now I need to get cracking on major planning. The outfits you found are so cute. I'll need to check out your tip on the free disney shipping.;)

I could never drive to WDW with the kids. Your toys should be really helpful. The DVD player had been great for long car rides. All the other toys seem really fun. My DD loves the magnet boards. For the car we have a set in a metel tin.

I am trying to get everything pretty well set b4 I go back to school in 2 weeks!! My parents always took us on road trips when we were little (and older). I LOVE them. However I was completely unprepared when we took Bella on her 1st road trip to Cali when she turned 1. It had its ups and downs, but I plan on learning from that! I hope all goes well and this will let us know if we can continue or if it will by flying from now on?!!

Small Update...
I got red and green mickey paint samples from home depot this weekend and put them together to create a Christmas tree. I decided to start our countdown at 30 days out so the mickey heads (or toddles as bella likes to call them) are numbered. I was at walmart today to get some food to bring to my aunts for labor day and found some mickey mouse clubhouse stickers to use on the calendar. So it has been decided that bella will get to place a sticker on top of the number we are counting down on the mickey tree as we get closer each day to the trip. I will add a picture of it soon!!

YAY :cool1:

Your choices sound great! DW got the chicken at Flame Tree BBQ last time we were there and it was delicious :) For CS at MK, we usually do Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's. They serve good burgers and they have a fixin's bar with grilled mushrooms and onions and such for the burgers. This trip we've been thinking we'll try Columbia Harbour House. If we do, I'm going to get the Lighthouse Sandwich. I've also read a lot of good things about Pinochio Village Haus. The menu seems like standard CS service fare, though (pizza and sandwiches).

I think I've read trip reports where people got the milkshake at 50's Prime Time as their beverage on the dining plan, but it might have been Sci Fi. Hopefully someone else can answer your question, but I'll see if I can find the trip reports again.

We're looking forward to trying School Bread in Norway and Ohana for the first time on our next trip! :)

Your menu choices sound great! :cool1: I'm always looking at the menus, wondering what I'm going to order when I get there! I have a dining app on my phone with the menus so when I'm bored at work I start going through them! :rotfl:

I can't wait to see the countdown calendar, it sounds adorable!:)

Thanks for the reminders about the apps, I can't wait to look at what is available! Have you ever gotten the wait time app, is it any good??

**Thank you moparop!

Well my time at home (maternity leave) is sadly coming to an end. I go back to school later today to start working on plans for my official back to school date of September 20th. I can't believe my time is already over. Before I know it Meika will be walking and talking and so grown up like her sister. I have loved my time with the girls and am very grateful for it!!! With that being said I am going to compile a list of things I would still like to post before our trip. This way I can have my thoughts organized and I can check back here to help things go smoothly as we get closer and closer to our leave date and as things get way more busy around here especially with me going back to work!

So here goes...

Road Trips with Little Ones Part 2 (I swear I will get to this one day) :rotfl2:

Countdown Calendar (post pics)

Final Plans

And any other thoughts or celebrations I have along the way!!

Thank you to everyone for helping me get my plans well under way during my time off these past months!!! :woohoo::yay::cool1::banana::cheer2:

Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to work I go...:teacher:

Wishing you a wonderful and stress-free return to work. pixiedust:. :flower3:

Your dining plans look yummy. We like Peco Bill's for CS in MK although I've heard many good things about Columbia House lately. We'll be trying 50's and Le Cellier for the first time this trip. :) Several people have said the school bread is not to be missed. What is it? :confused3

It is a pastry with a yummy filling, If you look at the picture I posted the filling is the same as what that yellow dollop on top is. If you like donuts and coconut (to me that is the best way to describe it) you'll LOVE it!!

Oh my goodness it seems like it has been FOREVER since I have been on the boards. I have been working on catching up with all the PTRs I subbed in July/August. I am so excited for everyone, I can't believe it is already November. Time goes by so fast. Meika already has 2 teeth! Didn't I just go back to work from maternity leave? They grow up so fast. Kindergarten and the girls have been keeping me super busy so here are some pics of what we have been up to! Pumpkin patch, apple orchard, and Halloween of course! Bella was a cowgirl (Jesse) and Meika a pony!

Road Trips and Babies...
Ok so here is what I have so far:
Teething toys, lots of car seat dangling toys to change out, and a fun activity mirror to hang from the headrest since she will still be sitting backwards at 7 months. If you have any other ideas for me please let me know. If I haven't already stated we are driving 2, 12 hour days to get to Florida and that is with no stops (but of course we will be taking breaks)!! We are nuts I know!!!

Hope to be on again real soon!

Kammie :wizard:

Err...so much nonsense drama going on at work involving my coworkers!!! I can't wait...oh my gosh just got a text from the one not making things so easy right now - AHHHHHHHHHHHH - :scared1:

As I was saying I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TRIP!! We really need this as a family, to get away and have some fun bonding time together! YAY!! :yay:
Thanks, just needed to do a little venting and remind myself that soon I will be relaxing with my favorite people away from it all in the most magical place on earth!

Kammie :wizard:

Now time to get lost for a bit in the world of trip reports. Thanks for posting everyone!

Hi, I am back! I lost track of many TRs I had been reading for awhile, when my boys got themselves on opposite naps schedules, so I always had one of them with me and had very little time for DISing. They are both in bed now, so that's good.

I think sticking with POR is a good decision. It is a beautiful resort, and if you do get to swim, the pool is pretty nice.

Cute Halloween pictures! Babies in costumes are adorable.

I like your ideas for car rides with little kids. If you don't mind me asking, where did you find that tray that goes over the car seat? I would love to get one of those for Carter. Carter is easy to amuse with books and toys and games. I am more worried about Landon on the trip than Carter. Is Meika close to Landon's age?
