This will be our 1st time going in December and im wondering if there are any holiday type activities outside of the parks that I might not know about? I found the info on the sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness. (Called to book it and was told they are not sure if they are going to do it again this year?).......anything else you can tell me about?

Thanks :)

First thing that comes to mind is visiting the resorts to see their fabulous holiday decorations. (Not sure I'd call that an "activity" like a sleigh ride - but it's wonderful.) They have gingerbread houses, train setups, and chocolate everything ... and it's just beautiful to experience it all. Have a great time!!

.

Thank you :)
I did plan all but one of our dinner reservations at the different resorts beause im dying to see the different decorations. :thumbsup2

If you have a vehicle, take a leisurely drive thru the Fort Wilderness campsites and see how people decorate their site. Some of the people camping can get pretty creative, competitive and over the top, fun to see.

Can you give me more information about the train set-ups? We will be going November 2013 and my son is IN LOVE with trains!

Definately do resort hop. Do some of the loops, like the monorail (GF, Poly, and CR) or the friendship boat (BW, BC, YC, Swan and Dolphin). Definately do WL and if you have time, go through the Campgrounds. There are people that stay all winter and decorate their campsites.

I stayed at the Dolphin in 2002 and they had a huge tree with a train running around it.

The Osbourne Family of Lights in DHS, and the Candlelight Processional at Epcot are also wonderful.
