Just a quick Monday check-in.
My weight was stable over the weekend. It actually looked like it was going dip down a bit, but since I didn't get to exercise on Sat/Sun I think it just stayed. Plus it is almost the "TOM" and I'm sure I'll pick up some pounds. My eyelids were already a bit puffy this morning.
On Friday night I tried my new Crunch Pilates tape. This one has hand weights that are used with the moves. OMG!!! After 30 minutes, I had to stop. This tape was too much for me and I almost got sick. I don't think I will ever master that tape. So, I spent the rest of the weekend sore and tired. Uuuugggh.
Did okay with my food though. I guess I had my first "non-diet" food last night. I had a pork tenderloin in the freezer that I needed to use. I decided to throw it in the crockpot with some homemade bbq sauce. And what's a barbeque sandwich without cole slaw on top? And then the bun?? So, I only ate ONE!!! But I brought one for lunch today. I kind of feel guilty but I'm trying not to beat myself up about it. It's just so hard when you've been very stringent for almost a month. I guess I'm getting too obsessive. But one slip and I'm down that slippery slope before I know it.
I made my WW black bean soup this weekend (recipe poster earlier in the thread). What a debacle. I didn't know it on Saturday, but we had a small snowstorm coming. I didn't realize it until I got to the grocery store. Man, what a nightmare. In my rush to get out, I picked up "black soy beans" rather than plain, old black beans. Didn't realize this until I was into the soup making. Fortunately, I had some dried beans around. Even after soaking and cooking the beans though, they still seem a little firm. So, I'm kind of bummed. Haven't eaten yet but I hope they soften up.
Felt like a spent a million bucks at the grocery store this weekend. I had to go to three different stores to get all the things I wanted. I feel like now that I'm eating better, I'm spending a fortune. I'm trying to buy organic when I can and better quality stuff. I'm noticing it at the register. I've always heard that when you cut the junk food you will slash your bill. Not true in my case. There was a woman in front of me who had a cart full of mac & cheese, chips, boxed EVERYTHING, candy, you name it. Her bill $79.99. I had lots of fresh veggies, OJ, milk, yogurt, Laura's ground beef, some WW's ice cream--my bill was $105!!! And that was just at one store.
Oh well, enough rambling. I'm starting the week at 145 lbs. Let's see how it is during my TOM!!!
