Christina and Mark's PJ - Can I do it all again please?! A few photos....

What about a watch? Cuff links that he could then wear to his own wedding & pass down? Gold chain?

Huzzah!!!!!! The dress finally fits!!! :cool1: I went for my final fitting yesterday (minus the camera, yet again... D'oh) and it looked SO much better after having had some padding put in the bodice so I actually look like I have... urm.. a bit up top!! Never ever EVER in my life have I had the problem of having no chest but it appears to be the place all my weight has come off and even though i'm not losing weight anymore, they're still shrinking having gone from a 40DD to a 30A... P'ah!!

Just to let those of you who are considering buying a box from the empty box company.... I packed my dress yesterday. I was originally going to take it back to the bridal shop to have them pack it, but decided to try myself yesterday. My dress has a really full skirt and it fit in the box no problems! I also managed to get my veil, hoop and underwear in there too. The box comes with really easy instructions on how to pack and a load of acid free tissue paper so i'm pleased i've got that out of the way... and incase anyone is interested.... with everything packed it weighs slightly over 11lbs :goodvibes

I also bought presents for everyone travelling with us yesterday. Photograph frames and small wedding albums for the ladies... and a couple of silver clock type things for my Dad and Son that I need to have engraved. I've also bought their cufflinks so I'm going to shove them in their gift bag too... so its been a productive couple of days!

Glad to hear about your dress! Did you send it to your hotel or to Carolyn Allen's?

Neither! The tax issue when travelling from the UK makes it way too expensive to even consider shipping it ahead of time. There would have been a pretty good chance that US customs and excise would try to charge me import tax on my OWN dress having already paid it once already in the UK.

Its boxed and packed ready for me to take as hand luggage on the flight over. The airline carrier we are using is very inconsistent when it comes to taking wedding dresses as hand luggage.... They sometimes let them on in dress bags and sometimes they don't. I found a company that makes travel sized boxes of the hand luggage dimensions so you can take them on with you rather than putting them in the hold... which just wasn't going to happen!!!! :goodvibes

Just caught up with your PJ, everything sounds wonderful (well apart from the DD issue) I love your dress and all your accessories plus your evening plans are now going to be my evening plans I hope.

Aww, thank you! :goodvibes I am SOOOO over the DD issue! She's a big girl and is going to have to learn to live with her choices!

I shall let you know how the evening plans go! I'm so excited about the cruise!! I also finally decided on the wedding music today and ripped the songs to disc...

... Our guests (all 4 of them) are going to be seated to 'Wake Up' by Arcade Fire. Me and DF are big U2 fans, and this is the song U2 played over th PA system before they took to the stage. We kind of figured it would be fun to have it playing!! Then i'm walking down the aisle to 'Baby I love you', but The Ramones version... then I ripped a few other songs to have playing in the background...

... and thats it! I'm NOT changing my mind again!!!! :rotfl:

I enjoyed reading about you packing up your dress. We just did this same thing on Friday, I was shipping mine down to Carolyn Allen's though. It will save you a lot of time having yours all boxed up when you leave :goodvibes

Hey Christina, how are you doing?

This is exactly what I'm doing with my dress after finding out about customs. Did you say earlier you are travelling with Virgin? If so, I'm sure their hand luggage allowance is 6kg. This is why we are going with BA - 2 checked pieces of luggage each and the hand luggage is 21kgs.

If it is Virgin are you going to be ok taking it on?

Oh you are SO close now!! :goodvibes How do you fancy swapping places then your creative self can have an extra couple of weeks to work on some more projects!!! :rotfl: The only problem with my dress being packed away already is that I keep wanting to go and unpack it all just to look at it!!!

Hiya Hun!

Yep, we are going with Virgin. I'm not too worried though... 6kg is about 13lbs so I should be fine... Plus they'll also let me take on an extra piece of carry-on, such as a handbag then whatever I buy airside in duty free (urm, which is usually a couple of bottles of perfume never to be worn again after the holiday plus numerous books and mags and other such rubbish!!!) :goodvibes

Showed the photos to my other half last night and he liked both the room and the boat so all systems go on that front I hope.

Forgot to say I'm a Liverpool lass as well although I lived in Southport most of my life till I moved down south.

Well, I shall be sure to get plenty of photos taken on the boat and of the room when we are there so you can really sell it to him!! I can't quite believe that this time in 3 weeks I shall be married! :-)))

I haven't lived in Liverpool since I was about 4 or 5... We moved to Runcorn (The Liverpool overspill) when I was a little girl and then I moved to West Yorkshire when I was about 19 and have been here ever since! Some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around Southport! I'm sure I remember being about 2 years old and going to the zoo at Southport! I could have imagined it though and that there was no zoo! LOL

Hiya all!!

Only 2 weeks to go until we fly! Unforunately all the excitment has been washed away for me the last couple of days. I had a really harrowing experience at work which has really shaken me to the core, and has left me in floods of tears for the last 2 days....

.... so, on the advice of my Mum who is SO very wise and who figured it would cheer me up, here are some photos of me in my dress! The quality isn't brilliant.... I tried taking them by setting the timer and then nearly falling flat on my bum trying to get in position in time! LOL. Plus excuse my incredibly gaunt face... in hindsight I probably shoud have slapped a bit of make-up on first so I at least looked human!!

You look *BEAUTIFUL* in your dress and you don't look gaunt at all! :flower3: I am sorry that you had such an upsetting experience at work. Just keep reminding yourself that you will be in the Happiest Place on Earth soon enough!

WOW!! You look stunning! Not gaunt at all. And if you are this gorgeous now, just imagine what the wedding day glow will add! :goodvibes

I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience at work. I dont' remember what kind of work you do, but I've had a horrible experience this week, too, and I keep thanking God I'm not a doctor. I just don't know how I could multi-task if lives were at stake. Sending you huge truckloads of pixiedust: for peace of mind and uneventful days leading up to your wedding.

Thank you both! :goodvibes Right now I could quite willingly walk away from work and never go back which is sad, because I love my job and I know i'm good at it. I'm a Nurse and its just the times something goes horribly wrong that I hate! I'm not good at leaving work AT work and i'm not good at accepting that we can't make everyone better! Every so often though one of those cases comes along which just really shakes you up and makes you question your whole career! Fortunately for each one of those cases, there are dozens of times I can look back and KNOW I made a difference which makes it worthwhile (I hope all this babble makes sense!?) Big hugs to you too Cam... you're way too lovely to have horrible experiences happen to you!!

Your dress is gorgeous! :)

Beautiful!! I love the dress, and accesories!

Thank you both muchly!! Ya know... each time I try it on I love it more and more... especially now I look like i've got some ****ies after the seamstress did an excellent job of sewing some chicken fillet thingies in the bodice!!! :lmao:

You are gorgeous girl!!!
Beautiful dress... you will look stunning on your wedding day.
Can't wait for the pictures!
