Well....As the title of this update goes....I've changed dresses. I posted in the FB group about how my mom was not a fan of my dress. She sat me down with DF the other day and was honest with me. While I'm very aware that I need to be the one to pick my dress and love it....My mom's opinion truly matters to me on some aspects.

So after a heart-to-heart with her friday....We went looking today. I didn't expect to find a dress that I loved but I did! :yay

What do you ladies think?? Am I crazy for switching dresses? I'm nervous to order because I'm terrified that I'm gonna hate the dress when it gets in.

My mom will still be wearing the dress we chose for her and I will be re-choosing bridesmaid dresses.

As a side note....Chris and I celebrated our 16 month anniversary yesterday! And as of yesterday, we were 17 months out from the wedding!

I totally respect you for continuing the search because of your mom's opinion! I probably would have done the same thing - at least looked around a little bit more together.

Anyway, I think your new dress is just stunning. I actually like it a lot better than the previous one. I love the bottom half, it's just elegant and romantic looking. And you look absolutely beautiful in it!

There is nothing wrong with switching dresses. I had the same dress picked out for two years, and then changed.

I'm new to the boards, and just finished reading your PJ (found it through another post I was reading).

I really enjoyed reading through your planning & such! I'm in the very beginning phases of planning a DFTW (with permission from the bf, who is an even bigger Disney lover than I), and I'm a huge planner, so I have to know everything before I go for it. I feel like I'm learning a lot about the process, but it's also so overwhelming!! (Will probably need help & sanity checks along the way )

Also, btw, your dress is gorgeous. I absolutely love it!

And, I keep hearing about Williamsburg; I live about 2hrs or so away (I'm in Virginia, just closer to DC), and I've really been wanting to go. Hopefully I'll get there some day.

Hello everyone!!

I’ve been so sporatic with updates…I’m super sorry for that! I talk on the facebook group often but I’m so busy with school….

Anyway since I posted about the change of dress..… I’ve had a birthday, bought some stuff for the wedding, ordered my dress and we hit our 16 months mark!!! We also had our 17 month anniversary Monday as well as I had my first hockey game on Sunday!

First up…The birthday! I turned 22 on Thursday, March 1st! I got totally spoiled by Chris and my family! Chris gave me the 40th anniversary messenger, a Jim Shore figurine from Hallmark, and charms for my Pandora bracelet. My mom gave me a Vera Bradley wallet [which I need to exchange, that reminds me], a grater for the kitchen, and some mickey towels/washcloths! I got some gift cards and I got a Pandora bracelet from my future mother-in-law and Chris’s family.

Second up: I ordered my dress! Last weekend [Feb 25th], my best friend from college came home with me for the night and we went on the 25th to order my dress!  My mom gave me the deposit for my dress as a birthday present. We’re going to get my dress paid off and then start ordering her dress and everything else!

As a reminder, this is my dress!

Third-up: I bought some stuff for the wedding! I bought a personalized hanger from etsy. It ended up costing me 24.30. Click here for the seller’s etsy page if interested. It’s supposed to be here within two weeks as the turnaround time was 2 weeks. I got light wood; silver ribbon and you’ll have to see what wording I got =]

Fourth:
We hit our 16-month mark with Disney for our wedding. I’ve been a horrible disbride and have not called or contacted Disney about the wedding. I need to email our planner. Does calling at 16 months even have any effect anymore?

Fifth [and last update for this random, sidetracked post]:
Chris and I have officially been dating for 17 months! We celebrated with hockey, of course. I also got a waffle maker for out anniversary and Chris also explained it as a present for putting up with him. He currently works night shift 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and we’ve been dealing with it for 6 months as of March 1st. Orignally, we should have switched to day shift this week but yet again the military changes stuff on us. Three days a week, he has to get up and go on base for a fitness class at 12 so he is never a happy person. It sucks but we’re used to it at this point.
