Chris & Megan's Wishes Wedding: Updated 8/2:Photobomb of the last month!

Alrighty. Now that my feet are being boiled alive as my dear, darling DF decided we HAD to re-bake my skates tonight to help them mold to my feet for ice hockey….I’ll try to get an update done.

So much has gone on since the last time I posted! :) My semester ended on the 9th after a heck of semester. I managed to keep my gpa above what it needs to be and got these stupid classes over with. It was a rough semester. I may be the only person on the face of the planet that actually does better the more stressed-out and busy she is! I only had 13 credits this semester.

I left for Disney on December 10th and drove down in two days with a friend who worked on the college program with me. I worked for Dec. 12th through Dec. 16th and then had a cake tasting on Dec. 17th at It’s Tasty Too! On Dec. 18th, my mom and DF came down to Disney for two glorious yet brief days before we made the 16 hour drive back to Maryland. Here are glorious photos from Disney!

After we got back, I went up to Delaware to play hockey for the last time before 2012 and then headed home to get ready for Christmas! This post is getting long due to photos so I’ll continue in another post.

I’m back, still with sweating feet. DF must really love this hockey thing……There are three of us sitting here with sweating feet in the kitchen. It smells, a lot!

Here are lovely pictures for Christmas and all that fun joyous times!

Yesterday, I made Christmas Dinner for my DF and his two roommates as well as two other guys from DAFB. Only my DF was off-work on Christmas so it was rather nice.

This weekend, we are off to Williamsburg for New Years! :)

I'll be posting in a few seconds with the wedding updates after I finish taping my sticks. I got HOT PINK tape for my stick. :cool1:

Finally, a wedding-related update!

Chris and I worked on choosing some wedding music this week! :) Here is what we have decided!

Ceremony:

Prelude:

Grandparents and Parents Come in to: Go the Distance by Roger Bart,

Grooms come in to: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by London Symphony. [I really just wanted fantasmic but nope!]

Bridesmaids come in to: Free to be me by Francesca Battistelli

Bride comes in to: Sleeping Beauty Waltz by Tchaikovsky

Unity Candle: Better Together by Jack Johnson

Recessional: a whole new world

postlude:

What do you think??

**Sorry if there is ads or if the videos sound funny, I had to chose the videos with the sound off on my computer!**

Today was/is our 15 months together! Time has flown. Today [Dec. 27] is also 18 months out until our big day! I can't wait!

Tonight, Chris didn't have to go into work until 1 am so we baked our skates, hung out with friends and watched most of Toy Story!

He was hanging out in uniform rather then having to go change to get ready for work....silly boy.

Have a great night! :goodvibes

You two are just so cute together :goodvibes

I love your music choices, especially Sleeping Beauty Waltz. That is going to feel so regal and romantic when you walk down the aisle :lovestruc

I have to ask, what does it mean to bake your skates? I have always lived on a beach and have no idea how these winter things work!

Thanks!! *I love Sleeping Beauty so her waltz was my first choice!

Baking your skates.... Basically it's a process to have the plastic liner molded to your foot. You can "bake" skates up to 3 or so times. You place them in this oven thing, kinda like an easy-bake oven. :lmao

They stay in the oven for about ten mins then you have to put them on your feet and sweat while they cool.*

It's a smelly procedure. ;)*

Hey,

Merry Christmas! Your photos look lovely and christmassy! Love your tree! :)

We are in the process of choosing music for our ceremony too, However Music is more my thing than DFs... I think its really hard! Your choices are brilliant! :) I love ALL your choices! Well done!

:) I will post ours when we are done! hehe - We have a few random ones on their too! They make it fun! :) (Land of 1000 dances - Wilson Pickett) hehe Its from one of our fav films! lol

Thanks!! We love that tree!!

The music we chose all has meaning for us!

Megan,

Just checking in, while watching the Rangers game. :)

Your music choices look great. Very different, but very cool. We did almost completely non-traditional music the first time and it was very "us".

Great photos. Love the tree. Great job on making dinner. I am sure they appreciated it.

Since DF is from Hampton Bays and into hockey, he might know my brother and nephew. My nephew is a lot older, but you never know. Ask Chris if he knows Scott or Ian Green. It really will be a small world, if he does.

Have fun in Williamsburg! It is our favorite place other than WDW. We were supposed to go for Christmas, but decided to save the money for next year. What are your plans there?

We were watching the rangers game tonight too! It was slightly depressing but then again....I'm a goalie girl. HL is my favorite......:rotfl: Not saying why!!! Chris is fully aware of the fact that I'm a goalie girl. :lovestruc

Thanks! Each and every song that we chose has meaning or is a song we loved. I may or may not figure out a way to get the Rangers Goal Song into our reception music :lmao:

I love our monorail! They loved dinner!

Chris said he knows the family name so he probably knows someone related to those two! It's so funny! We're headed up to Hampton Bays next Friday for the weekend/two days into the week.

I'm addicted to Williamsburg. I'm the kid that grew up going there for vacations. We must have gone 2-3 times a year as a kid! This trip will be my 39th? This year, we're just going to Busch Gardens for the Christmas Town then doing parts of Colonial Williamsburg.

I wouldn't quite say I'm goalie girl, but that did tend to be the only position the guys would let me play. Something about hitting too hard . . . :rolleyes1 I'm a Devils fan myself. But, I show the Blackhawks some love, too. :teeth:

OMG Megan!

I just got a good look at your cake sketch! Are you doing a Rangers cake??? Wow! I can't wait to see it come out. What are you planning to put on it?

Paul now wants to change our colors to black and gold! :rolleyes1

I am a huge HL fan, too! For the exact same reason. Have you been watching 24/7 on HBO? He looked so good last week. I have to admit it's a huge reason why I love Patrice Bergeron too. :lovestruc

We love Williamsburg too! We spent half of our honeymoon there. We stayed in one of the private restored cottages in July. Wow! :cloud9: Can't wait to do it again.

We're doing an "ice hockey" cake for the rehearsal cake/welcome party! It's not just rangers but the rangers are the center focus! It's going to have the Rangers logo in the center. I'm typing a post right now about my experience with It's Tasty Too that will explain the rest of the detail! I'm beyond excited about this cake!

Bahaha. I'm sorry :lmao:

I have not! I'm gonna check tomorrow to see if I can watch some of it online....I need to see it! :lovestruc

We always stay at Kingsgate or Governors Green. My family bought into those timeshares forever ago and we've used the heck out of them! :rotfl: I'm excited for the weekend! Plus on Monday is the Winter Classic! I'm beyond excited and nervous at the same time!

I should probably explain myself....I just love HL on the Rangers! I'm a dork!:lmao: He's my favorite.

Personally, I play as a winger. I love that position and have a blast with it!

Plans and Ideas
:goodvibes
I just realized that I’ve never posted our tentative, this is the way we’d like things to pan out ideas and plans for events and such! Our wedding date is June 27, 2013! This falls on a Thursday!

Our wedding week and events will begin on June 22nd! My mom, Great-Aunt, Grandfather, and Aunt Lori will begin the trip by driving down. Depending on the amount of leave and difficulty that Chris may or may not encounter getting leave, I may drive his car down to Florida. I doubt that he will be able to get enough leave to be able to take from June 22nd to July 5th. If He ends up being able to, we will leave sometime on the 22nd or 23rd depending on the schedule and drive straight through. We’ve done it twice and we have no issues doing it at all any more. If he is unable to get leave, I’ll be driving his car solo down there and he will fly down no later then the 24th. He’s planning on being able to drive though.

June 22-23rd: Travels south to Florida- Bride and Groom as well as above family!

June 23-24th: Rest of Bride and Groom’s Family arrives in Florida!

June 25th: Rest of Bridal Party [Andrew, Jessie, Danni and Tommy] arrives in Florida. The other members of the bridal party are family!

June 25th: Batchelorette/Batchelor Parties!

June 26th: Guests finish arriving! Some guests may arrive prior but we’re going to try to get everyone here to get-together prior to this!

June 26th: Wedding Rehearsal [Held in a Salon at the GF, I do not want it to be held in the Wedding Pavilion]

June 26th: Rehearsal Dinner. We are planning on actually inviting everyone to this! We are considering having it at a Disney Restaurant or at the Timeshare. My family owns weeks worth of timeshare points and we will be using the points greatly for the wedding! Either way, we’ll be using the “Ice Hockey Cake” created by It’s Tasty Too!

June 27th: WEDDING DAY! We’re planning on a 10 am ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion followed by a 11-2 Cocktail and Brunch Reception at the Grand Floridian. We’ll be re-gathering as a group around 6:30 to go to our Dessert Party at Epcot! That’s the tentative plan as of right now!

June 28th-July 5th: Our Honeymoon! We’ll be staying hopefully at Caribbean Beach and the Contemporary.

How does that look to everyone? Am I crazy?

It’s Tasty Too: Cake Tasting!

While I was in Orlando for work, I got the chance to go to a tasting for the rehearsal dinner/party cake! I had emailed them SEVERAL months back about starting the process and every time I sent an email or a question, they answered it within a day or two. They do have days where you get an email back saying they are “out of the office” because they are busy with cakes but they still got back to my questions quickly.

After I found out I’d be there to work, we sent emails back and forth for ideas and I made an appointment for a tasting! I went to their location in Winter Garden on Dec. 17th. I had some issues with loosing my ID at DTD the night before and had to go grab it before I went to the tasting so I ended up being about 15 mins late to my 2:00 appointment! I called Heather to let her know that I was running late and she was so nice and awesome about it! I never felt like my appointment was rushed at all because of it and it flowed smoothly.

The first thing we went over was the contract, the contact information and the event information. Then we started discussing ideas for the cake! Heather [who is the one I met with] was able to sit there and sketch out ideas and details for the cake so quickly! We ended up deciding on a Mad-Hatter, 3 tiered cake that serves 6, 12 and 35 people overall. The bottom layer will be white, the middle layer blue and the top layer red!

b32484f5.jpg

There is a pair of crossed hockey sticks on the top as the topper. I’d like to have her use pink tape on one of the sticks as that’s my trademark! The First layer features DF’s Hockey Jersey [The Thunder]. The second layer features the New York Ranges logo as well as a goalie mask since DF plays as a goalie sometimes. There is also a hockey puck that features our date, June 27. 2013. On the bottom and last layer, there is my hockey jersey [Delmarva Wave] and another puck which actually features the Islanders logo on it!

While I was there, I did do a tasting as well! Everything was moist and delicious as could be! I cannot wait to eat the cake already! I do remember that I chose funfetti cake with fudge filler but can’t remember the rest of my choices or find the papers that she gave me! I’ll do that next week while I’m at home for a longer period! I also need to find the papers she gave me to post the price and that type of information!

I really am looking forward to working with them for our cake and it should be yummy!

Ohhh that sounds like a GREAT idea for a cake. And their cake tasting looks just like DFTW's--- and cake tasting is the most fun part ever.

Also, all of your plans sound great. :) If I were you though (and I can say this because my schedule is similar-ish haha!), I think I would maybe not arrive in WDW a full week before the wedding: I don't think I'd be able to RELAX. I already know arriving 3 days before, I'm going to be a nervous wreck. BUT, you're probably not a worrywart like me. :goodvibes

I am a worrywart but Disney is the one place I don't worry! I can always go work a shift or two to get my mind off the wedding!

Thanks! :goodvibes
