So we have been thinking about the final date of our wedding

we have three dates in mind

5th april the day we met

1st may the day we officially got together

21st ocotober the day we got engaged

so were your wedding dates a memorable date for you or just a date you chose?

Because of my niece and school we had to go to WDW in holiday time. So our wedding date was just the middle day in our holiday. It is a memorable date for us now :)

yeah it deffinitly is :)

i just wondered if you aimed for a special date or if you just had a time of year you wanted to get married :)

congrats on married life off to read all about it i cant get enough of the tr

If it could have been more flexible with the dates I would have loved to have got married at Christmas as I have always wanted to visit WDW at Christmas. Or spring would have been nice so it wouldn't have been so hot.

I was just happy to be getting married at Disney I didn't really care about what date we did it on but I know to some people the date is really important. But if I had thought about it it would have been cool to have the date 08-08-08.

I always wanted a Fall wedding and we had an Intimate/Escape so we knew it would be a weekday and we wanted a Thursday so our guests could stay the weekend and we realized if our wedding were on a Thursday, our next few anniversaries would be on a weekend - that just seemed like fun. When we looked at the calendar October 20th looked like a good day - Oct. 6 was too early; I didn't want to get married on the 13th and have our first anniversary be Friday the 13th (bad luck); and the in-law's anniversasry is Oct. 27th so that day was out. I checked the Farmer's Almanac for the predicted weather (I'm a bit of a control freak but I can't control the weather!) and it looked like it would be a pleasant day. So, no special significance to choosing that day, but now of course it's a most special day!

see we are also having family occassions to think of when choosing ours

April 5th my sisters birhtday is the April 2nd and her DBF is March the 31st (also very close) so we will either have to fly out in between or before as they wont want to travel on their birthdays and coming from uk i have read numerous times best to bein your destination for at least 5 days before the wedding

May 1st DFi mums birthday is begining of may

October 21st is near to my mum and dads anniversary

i dont want to feel like we are taking the attention away from their special days

:rotfl:

I chose my date because it fell under the value season which I wanted for my guests. I thought January was too close to Christmas so I just went with February 2nd. Which I didn't realize at the time was Groundhogs Day AND I am also hearing it from my male guests because its the day after the Super Bowl and I guess they wanted to stay up and watch the game and party all night. :lmao: :lmao:

I wanted to get married when it was warm outside and stuff, and we don't really have anything going on in May (like birthdays or any other special dates), and they had the 12th available so that's what we went with! I'm sure whatever day you choose though will be perfect for YOU! :goodvibes

ha ha lol i wont be booking mine near any sport events then lol

is there a calender or any thing which shows you when the cheaper times of year are?

We don't have a signifigant date in mind for ours either. I want it to be at Christmas time so the decorations will be up for our wedding, since Christmas at WDW is my favorite time of year.

No special date. We knew we wanted fall winter so I would not be a swaety bride. hate the heat (I live here in FL) and I cannot handle the heat at all so we picked Dec 5.

I had to balance it around my work schedule because the end of Dec we are allowed no PTO.

I would love to go in christmas time but being a self employed hair dresser i would lose out on alot of money being away that time of year

also we would love to have a reception at home with friends and family that couldnt make it all they way to Florida and not that here in the UK we get much great weather but December January is espcially bad

Thats why i think we are leaning more towards april and my dates as hopefully the weather will be better when we arrive home

Originally we chose a date based on school schedules but we decided forget that- they'll be there if they want to be there. We chose what we HOPE is value season, the weather is nice, and the rose garden BETTER be in bloom. Plus- April was good because my Bday is Jan his is Oct so a celebration near the middle is nice.

thats nice something different to look forward to all year round

i think we will try and avoid school holidays as this isnt an issue to us as no one has small children and even if any one does have children from now till the wedding they wont be old enough to be at school

school holidays are just too busy i think

like you said as well if they want to be there they will

When choosing our date, (hopefully Aug. 5) we had to keep in mind school schedules. Both my mom and step-mom are school teachers, and my nephew will be starting school that year. I'll also be finishing up my internship with my job so I'll be done traveling. (I didn't want to leave my DF all alone after we were married!) I'd rather not have it in August, but the only other option for us is July, and that's peak season. I picked August to try and save my guests a little $. ;)

ah right yeah being teacher is deffintly some thing you would have to take in to account lol august is really hot though x x
