We will be in So Cal in late October and I want to tack on a Disney trip. We go yearly but hopefully this will be the first time our youngest is 40 in so we can do most rides as a family. We tend to try to rope drop, sometimes rest midday but leave by 8 or 9 as the kids need their bed by then. We need to minimize expenses and will do 1 park per day but get Maxpass.

There are 2 choices- #1 Sat Oct 20- Mon 21 or #2 Thurs 24- Sun 28. For #2 we likely could not arrive by rope drop and would leave mid to late afternoon on Sunday to drive home. For #2 there is a Halloween party on Fri night.

I'm thinking #2...more time! But am wondering how to chose which park on that Friday and how much the party affects things. For#1 I was wondering just how bad Mondays are and if it's worth avoiding. We haven't noticed a big difference on past trips but it's been busy every day. The other factor is that our other plans are the beach so doing Disney first is nice to decompress after vs beach first Disney second.

Wwyd?

There is a whole thread about how bad Monday has gotten. I usually avoid it anyway it seems lol... I always go for more days, allows you to feel like you can take a break, cause you will be back tomorrow...

On party days in the past, we have had tickets, so we started in DCA and then went to DL around dinner. I understand DCA gets packed. So maybe that would be a day to be in DL or DCA until dinner and then have a nice dinner and an early bedtime?

That is what I was thinking! Thank you all!

October is the best month of the year to go to Disneyland but just be prepared for the crowds. The dates you picked are some of my favorite days of the year and we are planning to be there as well for the last week of October into November. Have a great time !!
