Hmmm... we have never stayed in a Concierge floor, but now I am tempted
by all of the postings here. Is it really worth it, if you have a very busy touring
schedule? We are usually up and out of the room by 7am to get an early start
at the parks, we return for a swim at around 4pm and get back to the parks
for the 5 to closing shift. It would seem like there would be no time for using
the concierge lounge. (We have two teenage boys!)

Opinions?

Go back a page or two and you will find a recent thread concerning whether to stay concierge or not. The replies seem to have been split 50/50. I personally would pocket the extra $50-$150 per night saved not staying concierge and spend on nice sit down meals in the park, shows, or gifts. Most deluxe resorts have turn-down service if you request and snacks /drinks can be purchased and stored in a small refrigerator. Booking reservations take only a few minutes and can be taken care of prior to leaving home. Having stayed concierge at several resorts I don't see the fascination but it may be something you have to experience for yourself. You'll have a great time either way!!

It sounds to me like you will be away from teh resort too much to really take advantage of it. Even with two teenagers, you can eat breakfast at a food court for less than CL will cost on a daily basis.

If you are looking to save money, it rarely happens.

CL is a higher level of service, not a food plan. Unless you are happy to pay for extra srevice, then it's not going to be "worth" it.

I have always stayed concierge and for our family it is definitely worth it! I also have 2 growing teenage boys and we all made sure we started out with a nice breakfast every morning before heading out. Those big breakfasts would hold us until mid-afternoon so to me it saves alot of money. I would even take some food back to the room to snack on later after our return. The beverages alone save you alot of $$$$. At the Swan they have bottled water so not only did I keep some in the room but always grabbed a few before heading to the park and everyone knows what they charge for bottled water in the parks.

When we travel with my teenage nephew and his friend, we always book concierge. It seems like they are always hungry and easy access to breakfast is great and the snacks help keep them satisfied between meals. They also just like to go to the concierge lounge -- it makes them feel independent and they sometimes meet other teens. We cruise often and concierge makes the stay more like a cruise. So, with teenagers I think it's worth it.

However, your schedule has you away from the hotel so much that I, too, question whether it would be worth it in your case, even with teenagers.

I can tell you that even food court breakfasts don't come cheap at WDW. I was rather shocked when I bought two small coffees and two small milks for carryout from the Food & Fun Center at the CR recently and paid over $10. Breakfast for 4 at the F&F Center would easily top $50 I would guess (more with hungry teenagers). So you have to factor that in when considering concierge.
