Choose Your Own Adventure - September ToT Ten Miler (updated 8/2!)

I don't have time to get a proper update in before I head to class, but I wanted to say that I am now in the single digits!!

9 days until I'm at one of my favorite places!

And approximately 118 days until I leave for the ToT ten miler!

Things are going well. :goodvibes

I'll try and update something longer later today or tomorrow.

Take care!

ahhhh twice in only a few months? I am seriously jealous! congrats on being in the single digits!!

I feel seriously lucky. :goodvibes I wasn't sure if I would be able to go or not, I was on the waitlist for the race, so I didn't know what my odds of getting off were. One morning I got an email saying I was off the the waitlist, and I was ecstatic!

Thank you! Only eight more days now!
I guess that means I should probably make sure my summer clothes still fit...

I'm sorry for not finding the time to update. I blame this on two things.

A) I've been so busy
It's been a crazy week, in addition to having finals this week and having to study, I've been attempting to unpack all my stuff from when I moved back home, plus getting all new furniture in my room, plus having stuff going on every night, plus trying to figure out what my plans for the next academic year are, etc...

It's felt like a lot.

Thankfully my final is tomorrow, and then I can focus on getting ready for the trip because I leave THIS SUNDAY!

I don't know how it creeped up on me like that.

And the other thing I blame this on is

B) There hasn't been much to post about

Really, most of the planning is done, I've perfected my ADRs, and I feel good.

And for the September trip, aside from figuring out what days we want to go and where we'd ideally like to stay, we haven't booked anything.

So here's two questions for you DISers!

1) Does the sports store (I have no idea what this is really called, I've only been in there once) in Downtown Disney sell any runDisney gear?

2) Do they still offer bounceback bookings (that's what they're called, right?)? Because I'm thinking it could potentially be a good deal to book our room that way for September. Or is it better to book it through the special offers on the WDW website or the IRUN number? Is there any advantage to booking through the IRUN number as opposed to the regular phone number? It's confusing. Does anyone have any advice?
I'll probably bring my laptop and compare deals while I'm there, but it would be nice to have an idea of what might be the best way. :)

Until next time! :goodvibes

So, I leave tomorrow.

And it's funny, as excited as I was with all my planning, a few things have come up over the past week that have made me not so excited.

It's a little frustrating.

I know I'll have a great time when I get down there, and that's what it important, but right now, I feel disappointed and tired.

It's been a long week.

Hopefully I'll feel more excited when I get on that airplane and realize I'm going to Orlando.

So, yeah, tomorrow. If I don't post until I return, I wish all of my readers, even the lurkers, a wonderful week! :goodvibes Until then, take care!

P.S.
The two questions in my last post still stand, especially the one about booking through a bounceback offer versus IRUN versus regularly through WDW, so if you know anything, I'd really appreciate it if you let me know. :)

I hope you have a super time on your trip! And congrats on making the decision to do the ToT ten miler. You have such an exciting life. I'm enjoying your writing and living vicariously through your adventures. Can't wait to hear all about your trip. Enjoy!

Ahhh! have a great time on your trip :) I'm sure you'll cheer up the moment you see something mickey related :) I can't wait to hear all about it!

Thank you! :goodvibes Hopefully it won't take me so long to finish the TR this time!

Thank you! I'm feeling a lot better about things today, so I think when I actually land in Orlando, I will be so, so psyched!

I leave for the airport in about thirty minutes! Crazy! I'm taking my laptop, so I may try and post quick updates, that is, of course, if I'm not having too much fun. ;) I hope you all have a wonderful week!

And I'm home.

I never know what to say after I get home from a Disney trip. It's always weird, the morning after, because it almost doesn't feel real. Like, I'm back home, and everything seems exactly the same, so was I really gone?

I overanalyze things, in case you haven't caught on by now.

Regardless, it was a pretty wonderful trip. Super hot and crowded, but wonderful.

I have stories to tell, and I can't wait to share them!

Expect a link to the TR soon-ish. I'm kind of freaking out right now because I can't get the pictures to load, but hopefully my dad can help me with it. It would be so sad to have something happen to them.

Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely week! :goodvibes I know I have.

You can find the June TR HERE!

Hope to see you over there! :goodvibes

I will be continuing this PTR for the September trip.

Now that I'm home from the June trip, it must mean it's time to start working on the September trip!

I realized I haven't really talked about who's going on this trip, so I guess that's important.

I'll be going with my parents, despite the fact that my dad is not exactly a Disney lover. At first I really didn't think he'd want to go, but he wants to support me for the race, which is awesome. :)

Our dates will most likely be 9/27 to 10/1. I haven't booked rooms yet, but will probably do so in the next day or so.

I did get our park tickets, plus the tickets to the party at Hollywood Studios after the race, today.

I'm debating if I want to get tickets to MNSSHP. I'd love to go, but we'll have been up late the night before, and I'm not sure if I'll be too tired.

It looks fun though! I went to the Disneyland Halloween party last year, and really enjoyed it, so I think I may have to get tickets.

Yeah...

I'll probably end up getting tickets...

Hello!

Yesterday was a big day for two reasons!

I booked our rooms! Although I did it online to avoid having to call them, and I managed to misspell our last name and didn't catch it until the confirmation page. So much for trying to avoid having to call them...

But despite that small error, our rooms are booked, our tickets have been bought, I think the only thing left to do is book our flight and make one or two more dining reservations!

Oh, and keep training..

You're probably wondering where we're staying, huh?

It's somewhere I've never stayed before, but somewhere I've always wanted to try.

It's the Port Orleans French Quarter!

We decided to book two rooms, since it's easier for our family for several reasons, so we decided to go with a moderate since it was quite a bit cheaper than booking two rooms at a deluxe. It's our first time staying at a moderate (unless the Disney Institute Villas were considered moderate.. I have no idea. That's where we stayed on our very first trip when I was 9.).

We chose the French Quarter because, okay, this might be a silly reason, but I love New Orleans Square at Disneyland, and this resort is reminiscent of it. And all the pictures I've seen of the resort look charming. I've always said that if I were to stay a moderate, Port Orleans French Quarter would be my first choice.

I'm very excited to stay there!

And my second bit of big news is...

(A drum-roll might be nice)

I signed up for the Tinker Bell half marathon at Disneyland in January yesterday! :tinker:

I'm pretty psyched!

To be honest, I would have preferred to do the Princess half marathon at WDW, but California is lot closer and a lot cheaper to get to than Florida is from Seattle. So it made more sense on several levels to do the Tinker Bell half marathon.

But I think I'll have a great time, and who knows, maybe in a few years, I'll be doing the Walt Disney World Marathon.

I can dream, right? ;)

Well.

It's been a while.

It's a little odd, normally all I think about when I have a WDW trip coming up is that I have a WDW trip coming up, but I haven't really.

It's not that I'm not excited, because I am so excited, but it's not all I'm focused on right now.

Maybe that's a good thing...? ;)

Also odd is the fact that I haven't played around with dining reservations like a million times. For the June trip, I had over 50 emails from Disney dining either confirming or canceling a reservation. This time, I probably have like ten. I'm pretty happy with our reservations though, the only thing I'm trying to get is maybe a Le Cellier. We'll see. I won't be too upset if I'm not able to get one.

We got our tickets for the party after the race! Aren't they fun?

I'm definitely going to get tickets to MNSSHP. I haven't yet, but will probably do so in the week. Just my mom and I are going to that. I'm trying to convince her to dress up, but we're not sure what she'd do yet.

I'll probably recycle my Naveen costume from last year when I went to the Disneyland Halloween party. No one seemed to know who I was though.. :sad2:

Also, I don't think I've mentioned that I'll be in Disneyland for a few days in September too. I'm super excited to see Cars Land and Buena Vista Street and the News Boys. It all looks so awesome!

And I'm trying to decide if I want the Brave kids backpack from the Disney Store. It's on sale, and it looks like it would be a good size for going to the parks, but do I really need another backpack?

Until next time!
