Event News - Choose Your Destiny!

We have set up a Quest of sorts to help you find your destiny. There are 4 start rooms, all with the same name and look. Each contains a path, and a choice of teleporters. There are several similar rooms that follow, each with another choice for you to make. When you enter the final room your destiny is revealed: Hero or Villain.

When:
Friday March 24 - 2:30 to 8:30pm, Pacific
Saturday March 25 – 8:30am to 7:30pm, Pacific
Sunday March 26 - 8:30am to 7:30pm, Pacific

Where:
Look for rooms owned by HOST_Babs, titled Choose Your Destiny here

The final room will reward you for your journey, but only the first time each day. Here are the rewards:
Friday - Purple Superhero Shirt
Saturday - Purple Superhero Pants
Sunday -Superhero Mask

Please note: these reward items are not tradable.

You may complete the Quest as many times as you like, but will only receive a reward the first time you complete it each day.

Don't know how I feel about this. I am so used to getting extras of everthing! I am also worried that I will miss it and not get a mask. I know a lot of people are going to be bummed.

OTOH, PURPLE! and not for 3000cr! Free!

I can only hope that since it is only once per player for the prize each day, it may be easier to get into these rooms.

I found it often difficult to enter the ride-a-thon rooms even when there were so many open to begin with. With only 4 start rooms available, I am worried that this will be a challenge to enter but with only one prize per day, I hope this solves at least a little of that problem. Oh I am sure everyone will be using all of their characters, but hopefull everyone will have a chance.

I have mixed feelings about this. I think its really interesting that its one per player and not tradeable. I wonder if it will be a reward pop up or show up later? If you all remember the last maze event, it was much easier to get in, and I do believe that was because it was one prize per player. I can speak for my kids, they have zero patience for waiting in a queue higher than about 10. I usually end up doing all the waiting and getting their prizes for them. Guess I don't have to do that this time! Not much incentive to really get extras either since we can't trade them. I'll be anxious to see how this all plays out. I am encouraged by the fact that vmk is trying different ways to handle the events, it tells me they do care, and want to make improvements. Trial and error really is the only way to perfect it, and I'll keep on showing up to be the virtual guinea pig!

I am really miffed about this. First off, Due to timezone differences I can't be online to get the items and second, if I do stay up to 11.30pm the queue is bound to be 5 miles long.

Oh NO! I can't get on on Sunday or any of the other days, I'll be travelling. So I get no mask or purple costume, and nobody can trade me one. This really really really stinks.

Well, first I am also tickled the purple outfit will be free. It is really the only one I want. Bummed that you cant trade it...

And I am very very happy to be getting the mask!

Oh no! I was hoping to buy more super hero boots when the other costumes came out. It figures that this would happen.

That really stinks that everything will be non-tradable.
And it stinks that you can only get one each. Of course, if it's non-tradable, you don't really need more than one.

But there is the issue of what about those that can't play during those days and/or times? Or how about if they for some reason can't get into the rooms or can't finish the maze?

I might play each day with my main character and then try with a couple of my other main characters to get extras. Just in case they ever do make them tradable in the future. But my main character will definitely be doing these once per day.

VMK needs to think some of these things through a little better. Purple will be a highly sought after color, especially for the girls. I feel sorry, for all the little girls (old & young alike) that won't be able to get these things.

I wish I knew how to link because AdventureTaz post he hit the nail almost right on the head. About to get a mask we would have to do a ride and spend tons of credits. Well we can save our credits but we are going on a ride

My thought about this. I believe some day it will be tradeable. They are doing this to stop people from hording and creating mules just for this ride. Also to cut down on the number riding as to give everyone a fair chance to get a suit.

So my thought someday it will be tradeable when I am not sure.

I agree slightly with the non-tradebality; it would cut down the room timing and make sure that people don't scam others. However, it's the timing I don't like. It's way too late for me, and I think the UK VMKers would agree.

The one per person idea and the freeness were kinda cool ideas, but I guess VMK still need to fine tune it again.

It seems that vmk is trying a variety of different scenerios for their big events, and I can't fault them for that. By limiting us to only one piece of the purple costume per day, and making it untradable, the effect is that most of us will log on each day this weekend, even if our plans may not have included playing vmk this weekend. Clever marketing! With warmer weather approaching, most of us will be lured out into the fresh air and sunshine on the weekends, and vmk wants to keep their traffic numbers up. I expect to see more of this type event now.

With the constraints vmk has placed on this event, they should have the destiny rooms open during all their operating hours -- open to close -- for the goodwill of people in all times zones.
