Can you order appetizers and/or desserts at the Palo Bar? If so, am I correct in assuming there would be a $10 charge as for a meal?

Yes, we did this once. The chocolate souffle is soooooooooooo worth it!! OMG, I am drooling sitting here thinking about it.

By the way, order several desserts when you go to Palo. They are all so delicious!!

I am having trouble picturing where the bar is in Palo. Can someone describe it to me from where you enter the restaurant with the desk on your right.

If I am not mistaken it is right around the corner from the desk. So, if you take about 6 steps and turn to the right it is right there. Haven't sat there, but will be the next time as I don't want to eat dinner, just get dessert!!!

So, do you need a reservation? Also, do they charge you $10 if you get the souffle and an appetizer? Wondering how that works....

I would like to know too. Also, can you get it 'to go' to take to your room?

I'd like to know, too. Also, those nice little after-dinner palate-cleansing drinks they serve--we couldn't get those in the Promenade. Are they available anywhere else onboard?

...i'm curious too...this bar suggestion might totally be the way i get to do Palo! So do you need reservations to sit at the bar and eat souffle?

The 10$ charge is a flat rate....you eat at palo you pay 10$.....each......
And you need a reservation that you can now do over the DisneyCruise web site....some how.....

Although Palo's is a 1st class restaurant and yes the Chocolate souffle is outstanding, i wouldn't make a big fuss about it if I didn't go again this November. My Opinion......have fun :cool1:

I've never done this but have read on another thread before that you do not need a reservation to sit at the bar.

Even if you only have an appetizer and dessert, it would be well worth the $10 charge! :)

There is no charge to sit at the bar and have a dessert at Palo, and they do add gratuity into your alcohol order (assuming you are getting an alcoholic beverage.) We always give them a bit more for accommodating us.

We have done this several times--go have a glass of wine or two (beer for DH) and some dessert. It was a lovely evening. You still have to dress for the restaurant but the CMs at the bar appreciate a bit of business.

So...how much does the dessert cost?

Mine cost well over $1500, but then, that also included a 7-day cruise along with it! :goodvibes

This is what I was thinking. :rotfl2:

I did not know you could go to the bar at Palo's without a ressie. I think the bar is nice. And yes it is located where Takia said.

I did not try to order dessert at the Palo bar, but almost every night of of cruise last year we went to the bar and had Richard (our favorite bartender that trip) make mojitos for us. We tried at every other bar on the ship but none of them had the fresh mint to make the drink. I agree with not needing reservations....we never saw anyone else at the bar on any of our trips up there. There are only 3 or 4 barstools there, but I would think they would let you order a dessert and eat it if you like. Another idea, would be take out...I always got the drinks to go, you may be able to do the same with some desserts.

We leave on a 3 day cruise in 3 weeks!! The first day of our cruise is my birthday. I had orginially planned on eating at Palo's this night but as I thought more about it DH and I decided we would rather eat there on our last night and watcht he sun set.

But if I can go to the bar at Palo's and order a chocolate souffle for my birthday I would be in heaven.
