I WAS SADDENED TO HEAR THAT HOLLYWOOD AND VINE WILL NO LONGER BE SERVING BREAKFAST. ON OUR LAST VISIT (FEBRUARY 2002) WE REALLY ENJOYED THE CHOCOLATE FRENCH TOAST. I WROTE DISNEY WORLD REQUESTING THE RECIPE AND AFTER ABOUT 14 MONTHS, I RECEIVED IT IN THE MAIL. I THOUGHT MAYBE SOME OF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE RECIPE, SO HERE IT IS:
MERITA CHOCOLATE TEXAS TOAST
12 SLICES TEXAS TOAST
6 OZ. CHOCOLATE MILK
4 EGGS, BEATEN
1/4 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
1/8 TSP. CINNAMON
CHOCOLATE SYRUP, AS NEEDED FOR GARNISH
POWDERED SUGAR, AS NEEDED FOR GARNISH
MIX WELL CHOCOLATE MILK, EGGS, VANILLA EXTRACT AND CINNAMON. DIP TEXAS TOAST INTO EGG MIXTURE. COOK ON HOT GRIDDLE ABOUT 2 TO 3 MINUTES PER SIDE. PLATE A SPRINKLE WITH POWDERED SUGAR AND CHOCOLATE SYRUP.
I TRIED THE RECIPE, BUT I COULDN'T FIND TEXAS TOAST SO I USED THICK CUT ITALIAN BREAD AND MY HUSBAND HAS A CHOLESTEROL PROBLEM, SO I USED EGGBEATERS. IT WAS JUST AS GOOD.
