I'm considering renting one of these for our daughter's graduation party in June. The place I might be renting from includes the supplies (plate, forks, napkins, table linens, etc.) as well as an attendant for 2 1/2 hours. It's expensive but I liked that it came with an attendant so I don't have to worry about constantly cleaning up after everyone. So whaddaya think? Have you ever been to an event where they had one? If so, did you enjoy it?

TIA!
Cheryl

I haven't, but they had one at DD's prom last year and she said it was quite the hit.

Good luck. :)

All I can think when I see these is - double dippers - wouldn't touch one with sterile gloves on. But, I have quite a few quirks like that......

That's what I was thinking. But, I wouldn't be opposed to having my own, private fountain o' chocolate. :teeth:

You can't go wrong with chocolate :teeth: .

That's what my concern is, too. That's why I thought the attendant was such a great idea--to make sure this doesn't happen.

I agree. I always thought they were kind of gross and I'm particular about chocolate, so I probably wouldn't try one unless the machine had just been turned on and the chocolate was of good quality.

I thought I was the only one. They seem so unsanitary to me....

My brother makes chocolate fountains. His are unique in the sense they have themes and the chocolate flows out. The chocolate comes out in a single flow. The chocolate is not exposed to the air and all the germs. So there is no double dipping problems, or anyone sneezing by it. His last fountain was a golf ball. Then he made a Detroit Pistons fountain,Tea cups(the chocolate flows down the cups) Birthday cakes, glass slipper. They are always a hit at parties.

My brother had one at his wedding last month, so I say yay all the way. :thumbsup2 He also had a Ben & Jerrys cart, waffle ice cream, & literally 138 other things, so I didn't know what to choose for dessert. :p

:scared: :scared: Anything that recirculates scares me.

We have a few of them here at work (convention center) and they are always a hit. With the attendant you won't have to worry about leveling the machine and usually the lines around the machines are constant enough that no one stands around with the oppertunity to "double dip." [get in, load up, move on] I hope that they are indeed supplying all the linen, napkins, etc. Let me tell you, they are messy. It's not usually the fountain itself, but rather the people who load up chocolate on the marshmellow or whatever, and then swing it across to their plate an arms' length away. Additionally, since the chocolate is liquid, it also seems to find it's way on to the carpet, seats, etc. Let's just say our janitorial staff hates the things and our steam cleaning machines are working overtime for a solid week following one of those events.
