Chiquita Bananas to sponsor Living with the Land

I love the soarin' video, but it REALLY needs to be digitalized or something more crisp.

As for florida, not much diversity in the land and I think that is the benefit of the California video. Does it really matter WHERE in the US it is? Not to me.
Just thinking the actual video quality needs to be upgraded.

Can we get them to sponsor Kitchen Kabaret? (:

I enjoy the attraction the way it is now. I wouldn't suggest a fly-over of Florida because (as stated before) the landscape is mostly flat.

What about the same footage (or similar footage) in HD and possibly 3-D?

Speed :teleport:

I like the idea of it being 3D.

I was @ EPCOT in June and Soarin is so wildly popular that the park had been opened for 15 minutes that fast passes wear already 45 minutes away and the wait line was 90 minutes.

We got fastpasses and went straight to Living with the Land and were the first to ride it. Glad to see it getting the new sponsor. :)

Who says it has to be just in the US? There are incredible things to see all over the world.

They could get footage from the entire planet the way that the BBC filmed the aerial scenes in Planet Earth so it would be smooth and in high definition.

It would be cool if it had different destinations at random like Star Tours.

Beat me to it.

Going to a digital projection system would allow the ride to have randomized segments, with the ride motion and extra effects (wind, scents, etc.) digitally keyed to those segments, so the ride system will react to whatever clip is being shown at any given time.

I do like the idea of 3D, which would really add to the immersion in the ride.

The nice part about putting the infrastructure in place for randomized segments is that segments can be added, dropped, or modified over time, so it can still be Soarin' Over California in the short term and be open to become Soarin' Over The World at some future date.

I'm thinking 3D following aircraft manuvers, or dare I say dogfights? That would work better at the DCA version at least in keeping with the theme of the land.
At the very least it needs to be digital 3D and have some sort of segways between shots.

I'd be happy with the tour's last segment being updated when you just pass the NASA part and go back inside with the static photos fading in and out like they are changing but they don't.

Make them actualy change! What would that cost? $5-10k?

Same thing with the lab workers from 1982. Shoot some video and swap it out you lazy...

As much as all these suggestions for Soarin' would be great...it won't happen anytime soon, given it's already like 2 hour waits for the ride as it is...If it ain't broke....

Waiting for things to break before updating them isn't particularly smart business -- at the very least, you'd like to schedule downtime for when it will have the least impact on visitors. I agree that I'd be surprised if an upgrade happened any time soon. But at some point, the aging film will need to be replaced and they have the plans to address that before it happens in order to minimize any ride downtime.

One problem is that it seems like there is less and less "downtime" of visitors at WDW...with all of the discounts that they've been doing for off-season, when is the slow time of year?

I think 3-D would work for Soarin' but if you're refering to the new Star Tours I haven't ridden yet but do agree it was a head scratcher when they announced 3-D for that

3d actually works great with ST actually.

3D plans of the future for Disney!

1. Soarin
2. UOE
3. One plan for JII

Chiquita has some advertisments up at 6 flags also, they must really be trying to get their name out. Works for me though, I LOVE bananas!
