I just found this forum (after months of being on this site!), but never really needed it. Anyway, I have a curious question for you. We are staying at the Beach Club villas for the first time in April. What resort do you think is the most central as far as transportation goes is? Do you think its the Epcot resorts? Thanks! I am so used to staying at POR and the trip anywhere seems to take about 20 minutes or longer to each park, so just wondering...

When you're waiting for the bus, or even when you are on the bus, time seems to double. In reality, most bus rides are quite short, especially those for Port Orleans.

If you're looking for CENTRAL to property, yeah, probably the Epcot Resort area would be close. However, I'd say Port Orleans would be more central, transportation wise.

I would base it on which park or parks I spend more time in. magic kingdom is by far the farthest away, unless you know the short cuts & have a car (pay attention on the buses). I have found most road you can drive on and if you can't they polietely ask you to turn around and you learn, but a few are a real life saver! If you want to spend more time at mgm/epcot then epcot resorts are way closer, etc..... AKL way out as is CS, and Allstars these 3 without a car and the short cuts take forever!

Indeed, basing on the parks is a good idea. And you are one of the few people that are correct -- Magic Kingdom is the park that is way out there... Everything else is based off of Buena Vista Drive. All the signs on Disney Property are based on where Disney wants the traffic to flow... not neccessarily where the quickest route lies.

HOWEVER... I would disagree that the All-Stars and especially Coronado are way out there. Via bus... the All-Stars are only 12-14 minutes away from the Magic Kingdom. Coronado Springs is right on BVD, right next to World Drive. This makes it only 7-9 minutes away from Epcot, the Studios, and DAK.
