Hi guys

A couple of CC questions!

Do they use the chip and pin system in the US? Can anyone recommend a good credit card?

Also we are staying at CSR, can we charge purchases to our room or is there an extra fee?

TIA :goodvibes

We have a Post Office credit card as no charges for using in the US & always found there exchange rate to be good when converting back to £££

No you can charge to your room throughout the whole of DW thet normally give you about $500 limit, but this can be reset if you spend it...

Most ask for a signature on a fancy little pad, but we have found some stores can also ask you for ID such as passport or driving licence.. GAP actually wouldnt let my wife use her credit card cause she didnt have there correct ID...

Oh dear. I guess I better carry my driving license.

I'll look into the post office card, they usually give us our dollars because their exchange rate is usually pretty good!

some stores are beginning to use chip and pin - walmart was one in January - quite a shock!

Thats handy to know, last trip I was paying with my CC in Walmart and the cashier asked me for some ID (passport etc) I had just assumed I would be able to put in my pin number as we do in the UK and I had no ID with me, in the end she let me sign for my purchases and told me to bring ID in the future :goodvibes

At CSR you will get a $1000 limit on your room for KTTW purchases. No charge for using it.

They do use PINs for debit card transactions but on CC I have always had to sign.

We also have a PO credit card.

we only do Disney generally and have never been asked for pin or ID. We generally charge smaller amounts (tips, gifts, alcohol aat meals etc) to our key to the world card and any larger amounts pay with a credit card so as not to go over out kttw limit. Never had any problems to date. :)

Should have added that if you look on the moneysavingexpert website it generally gives you the current best credit card deals for using abroad ;)
