Saturday 2nd April 2011
We had a bit of a lie in today and then walked to Union Square via Starbucks. We went into the Westfield Shopping Centre, it was like being at home, and had a look in a few shops, I resisted the urge to buy anything in Hollister. For lunch we went into the food court, I had a hard time deciding what to have, everywhere gave out free samples so we ate quite a bit before finally deciding to share a teriyaki combo from the Japanese Stall.
We walked up to Grace Cathedral, it was a very steep. On the way we passed the Disney store where I got 2 t-shirts and a pin. At the cathedral there was a little park outside where artists were showing their art which we had a look around before walking over to the Cathedral which was of course closed! The chior was recording a CD. We had finally hit the top of the hill so it was at last a downhill walk.
Back at the hotel I packed ready for leaving the next day then headed to Pier 39 on the bus to see the sealions. I could watch them all day, they were all climbing over each other, at last I dragged myself away and we looked in some shops then walked along the front looking for somewhere to eat.
We picked somewhere and got a lovely table. I got a bocci ball cocktail (well 2) and had veal with masala sauce. DH had a big bowl of seafood, crab, clams, muscles, squid, prawns, halibut with bread on the side in a broth. For pudding DH had creme brulee and I got chocolate lava cake.
We carried on walking along the front, DH got a baseball cap and I got a zip up hoodie. We just catch the bus again and don't have to pay. Back at the hotel we watch half of Transformers and I write up my trip notes then to sleep.
