Children's VKL lunch voucher questions

I noticed that the child's VKL voucher are also for an appetizer and an entree as well as dessert and a beverage. I was thinking I wouldn't bother with the VKL child's vouchers for my kids since kid's meals are usually cheaper, but after reading about the child VKL I may rethink my decision!

My questions -
1) Do kids who have VKL voucher for lunch have to order the kids meal or can they order a regular entree?

2) Do they order appetizer's off the adult menu as well?

Any experience or insight would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Depends on the restaurant. In Rain Forest -AK, kids can order anything (at least lately..and of course that is subject to change), from adult to child's menu. In restaurants where they don't have kids appetizers, they usually (been a few exceptions) let them order appetizers off the adult menu, but kids meals for the regular meals/dessert.
I have only found the kids vouchers to be a deal at RF-AK

We used 2 adult and 1 childs voucher at RFC on our Oct trip. They did let us order off the adult menu for the childs voucher.

I had 1 adult and 2 kids vouchers. I had a ps for 345. When we checked in, I asked the hostess if we could use them- she was not sure and asked a manager who said we could. The server came over and told us we could order anything off the menu for the adult and kids vouchers. He encouraged me to get the pricier things(like surf and turf with the steak upgrade). We got 3 adult appetizers, 3 adult meals, and 3 adult desserts and 3 beverages. It was me, DD 15, DS 6 and 9. It was a ridiculous amount of food. I took 2 steaks, an order of ribs and fries, the lobster(it was stuffed and I did not care for it) and 3 desserts back to the hotel for DH. He ate supper, I had a dessert for a late night snack, and we still had food left over!

I don't know if they will change this policy any time soon, but i really got my money's worth out of it!
