Kid's meals only go through 9 (or 10?) years of age. My daughter's 11 and eats like a bird: a tiny, already fed bird. And while I don't mind getting her something from the adult menu sometimes, I'm not overly excited about paying full adult price every time we sit down to eat.
We're not planning full-service at every meal, but at least once a day we'll be doing that, and I was wondering if it's ever possible, and successful to ask them to give her food off of the kiddoe's menu. There's some menus in Disney where there's very little (if anything) she'd be willing to eat from my side of the menu. Did I mention she's picky.
I guess worse case scenario my wife and I could let her eat from our food.

Okay, enough whining, anybody have any personal experience with this?

I think she would be ok to eat off of the kids menu at a table service meal...and there would be no problem with it at all at a counter service! When we go there and we're not on the dinning plan, a lot of times my husband, 2 daughters and I will all order off of the kids meal menu at counter service places. IMO, it shouldn't matter what age the person is, because it's a less amount of food...

UNLESS OF COURSE you're talking about a buffet! Then, they are quite firm on the age, which I completely agree with that.

DS11 orders off the kids menu most of the time and even DBIL has :rolleyes1 The only time it's an issue is if you're on the DDP (children 10 & up are considered adults) you'll have to pay for adult credits. They can be used for kids meals most of the time but it's an awful waste of money. Also for buffets, 10 & up will pay the adult price.

Yes, she can order off the kids menu no problem, unless it's a buffet, as the previous poster said. Sometimes, they will even make something simple to order, like my daughter didn't like any of the choices at Ohana, and they brought her chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. It was nice of them.
