At what age do I have to pay for adult meals for our children at Disney?

our DS will 11 & DD 12.

I'm annoyed that they have to have adult passes & don't want to be spending money for meals they won't eat.

Thanks

I'm not sure that there is a clear answer to this, although 'usually' it's about 12 years old for sit down meals (not including buffets).

However, within WDW (and probably elsewhere) we have often been able to order children's meals for our DDs when they were older than 12. I used to always check with the server that this would be 'allowed', but I got the impression they were surprised I'd asked, so then we just ordered on the assumption that they'd let us know if we couldn't ;).

I'm pretty sure that you will have to pay adult prices for 12yos at the 'all-you-can-eat' places (buffets, family style and pre-plated) at WDW. However, we have a really fussy 18yo and she often orders from the kids menu at the more upmarket restaurants.
