Please tell me if my DS11 can eat off the adult menu in the restaurants. He does not have to choose from the children's menu, does he? Thanks!

All passengers can order off whichever menu they prefer. We have sailed twice before and my DD (now 10) has always ordered off of the adult menu. She loves to try new things and the children's menu just doesn't do it for her. DS, on the other hand, prefers his chicken fingers or hot dogs. He will try new things, and often likes them, but also loves his old stand-bys. He has told me that on our upcoming 7-day Eastern he plans to order off of the adult menu sometimes and the kids' menu sometimes.

Also, adults are free to order things from the kids' menu if they want to. I know of many adults who regularly order the Mickey ice cream bars from the kids menu...myself included!

Hope this helps. We find the cruise is a great oportunity for our kids to try new foods.

On the first night our servers have encouraged the kids to try the items on the adult menu if they want. Of course DD8 never would.

Thanks for the help! My DS11 loves to eat and try new things. I didn't remember reading anything about this before, so I just wanted to make sure.

You can also mix and match. My daughter is 3 and I wanted her to eat something besides "junk"(hot dogs, etc.) at dinner. Each night we ordered her the steak, chicken breast or fish, along with the mac and cheese off of the kids menu. This worked great.
Oh, we also ordered a side of green beans almost every night.

I am one of the adults who has ordered off the kids menu :D
Normally I love the regular menus, but on our three-peat I finally got so tired of rich food and fancy dishes that I switched to the kiddie stuff...bring on the mac & cheese and the popcorn shrimp!

I found out during Cruise #3 that I could actually get two appetizers or two desserts or even entrees! Now I'm not a sweets person but it sure was nice to be able to get two appetizers and pass on the sweets. Loved the mushroom soup!

Also, my DS (7) is a big steak lover and had it one night in lieu of the kiddie fare.

Mouth is watering already - yup, it's supper time here in the Midwest!

Smooth sailing!
