DH and I are considering the Deluxe Dining Plan for our next trip in early March. Our, son (8 years old), would be on the plan with us. After reading the brochure and speaking with a CM, it sounds like at Lunch and Dinner, each of us would be able to select:

an appetizer
an entrée
a desert

I understand that DS must order from the children's menu (which is fine). But, does Disney have appetizers for children, or does he not get an appetizer?

Many thanks!

Yes they have children's appetizers and he will get one. It's usually carrot stick and ranch, fruit, small salad, noodle soup, etc.

Most childrens appetisers are very similar - carrot/celery sticks or soup.

Signature restaurants have a few slightly different options eg cali grill has lettuce wraps.

At signatures they were also willing to bring DD fruit if we asked.

Children are limited to the children's menu. I don't believe there are many circumstances (maybe at some non-Disney restaurants that haven't provided for children's appetizers) that children will be allowed to order an appetizer from the adult menu.
