We are planning a Sept. trip to Pop Century w/ our 3 toddlers. We will have 2 connecting rooms. I want to be prepared to childproof as much as possible. Has anyone ever put door knob covers on the bathroom doors? or covers on the outlets? I was planning on bringing my own, but was wondering if Disney also provides anything. Thanks! :wizard:

Disney does not provide anything like this. Bring your own. I learned a valuable lesson after my 2 year old locked herself in the bathroom (not Disney) and no one at the front desk would answer. There was a bath tub full of water and I finally told my dh to break the door down. He did. We didn't have to pay for it once I told the manager that no one answered at the front desk after 5 minutes and about 35 rings and three calls. She admitted that she didn't even know where the keys were!

Anyway, make sure you bring those knob covers for the bathroom doors OR you can duct tape the latch so it doesn't close. However, mousekeeping will remove your duct tape if they find it. The only other thing I can think of is the bed. My 3 yo actually fell off the bed twice. I don't know if she just forgot where she was or what, she never falls out at home, but she really could have hurt herself. Disney does have bed rails if you request them.

Disney does provied bed rails, when we stayed at the CR they were the type that folded down so you could make the bed and leave them attached. I would always bring masking tape to put over the outlets, not as messy as duct tape. I'd be afraid that duct tape would wind up ripping wallpaper/sheetrock. The other thing would be that the handicapped rooms have a sliding bathroom door instead of the one with a knob. No tub though, just a shower that's roll in/walk in. I remember my girlfriend staying at the POP in connecting rooms, they had a room with king/shower (handicapped room) for themselves and a two queen for their teenaged boys. The door to the outside has a handle that pulls down, lever style, not a knob. Another thing that I have used to keep the kids from closing a door and locking themselves in is the rubber wedge type doorstop in the crack by the hinges. It keeps the door from closing really well.
