Child too young to be vaxxed recovered from Covid tested at port?

Our grandson is only 14 months but just tested positive for Covid. He is doing well. They are 86 days from sailing. Will he have to be tested again at the port since he can’t be vaccinated even if he has the recovery letter from the doctor?

The link info indicates that it doesn't matter the age of the recovered person. No one with recovered status proof has to test at the port.

Make sure you get a PCR test and not just an at home test. In order to claim under the 90 day recovered status you need a positive PCR test and a doctors note saying patient is recovered and cleared to sail.

We also did this for our 1.5 year old - just make sure you get everything uploaded to safe passage beforehand and you should be good to go.

Make sure you get a PCR test and not just an at home test. In order to claim under the 90 day recovered status you need a positive PCR test and a doctors note saying patient is recovered and cleared to sail.

It does not have to be PCR. Per the site: "The test must have been antigen, NAAT, rapid PCR or lab-based PCR." You are correct it can't be a home test because there is no documentation for home tests, but if you go to CVS or a doctor and get an antigen test and they produce a paper test result with your name and DOB, that can be antigen, not just PCR.

That’s true, yes. I should have been clear I meant the basic home tests that you do yourself in private.

We did at home proctored tests through Vault Health. Husband tested positive and we used his test results to submit to Safe Passage. There were absolutely no places that had appointment when we needed tests. Had to pay $98 per test for the Vault Health ones.
