Anyone ever get a child ticket for a child who just turned 10 or looks young?

Understand the CMs at the front have been known to ask a child their age if they question it. And of course your child would tell the truth. I'm sure some people have been able to get through but everytime you walk through a turnstyle there is a possibility they will start a conversation with your 10 year old ;)

My son turned 10 two months before our trip. He is a small 10-yr-old and could have gotten away with a child's ticket. However, I didn't want to teach him the wrong lesson by lying, and I know I would have been concerned the entire trip that someone would ask him his age. It's worth the extra money for your own piece of mind and for a good morality lesson! :)

Nope, my son who just turned 10 looks 8, we booked our trip for sept. and paid full adult price for him. I don't want to to dishonest or him to have to be dishonest over a few dollars.

I bought a 10 day non-expiring hopper child ticket for my 9 year old son. The first time he used it he was 9. This last trip, he had turned 10. I went to Guest Services to upgrade the ticket, and they told me there was no charge, I could not help that my son was getting older. I asked what would happen if the next time he used his ticket, he was 15? They just smiled and said not to worry about it, to have a great time in the park.

:sad2: Why, oh why, did you have to ask this question? :sad2:

They don't sell child tickets. They sell guest tickets. As in Guest (3-9) and Guest (10+). If your child is 10, he/she will need a Guest (10+) ticket.

Of course not. That would be dishonest. Buy the kid a ticket or wait til you can afford one.

I already have my tickets. No one even knows why I even asked. I do realize how pathetic and judgemental everyone here is now and you all assume way too much over a simple question. Grow up and answer it politely (teach your children that one), if you have nothing better to do than take a question and turn it into what its not don't even bother replying. I especially love the whole money issue, don't be dishonest over a few dollars as opposed to what being dishonest for something that would be more beneficial? Second place is buy the kid a ticket or wait until you can afford one. This all started over a question which was taken out of context. I guess in the future I have to write a novel as to why I'm even asking a question. You may have replied in the fashion you all did if I asked: Can I get away with getting a ticket for a "guest" who is 10 but purchase the "guest" under 10 ticket? Then I could understand but this...please....I wasn't even asking for the reason you all assume. Have a good trip when you all go : )

I find it amusing!!!!! :rotfl2:

I STILL try to get my 16 year old 6'4 son into the movies for a child price!!!
My kids know, they can't lie to me, they can't lie to themselves...But if they can lie to save me a few bucks...I WILL LOVE THEM EVEN MORE!!! :thumbsup2

Then maybe you shouldn't play games and you should ask your real question. :confused3 If you don't give any details then people are going to jump to conclusions.

Arol25- When you post on a public board and ask a vague question you had better be ready for the responses, both good and bad! All I simply said is to get ready with your flame suit, because these types of questions dealing with honesty, etc. is going to get some responses. I never once passed judgement on you or your parenting methods. You said it yourself, when you are making a post you had better explain yourself and the point you are trying to make. this would ensure the wrong scenario did not get painted. Finally, to say everyone is pathetic and judgemental is just wrong. Grow Up!!!! Tink

p.s. did you ever hear that phrase that "when you assume something, you just make an *** out of u and me". Your telling us not to assume anything about your question, but yet you expect us to assume that the question was not meant to mean in a dishonest way of getting out of buying a childs ticket. :rolleyes1

Tinkerbelle, I was not talking about you.
Yes I should not have used the word everyone but anyone who responded ignorantly with rude comments those are the people I was talking about. As far as parenting style, the word judgemental was used for the one person, DaisyD, who believes by asking this question it must mean the person can't afford a ticket.

I should have learned (I'm not responding anymore) but I don't have time to write everything out for people to understand. Hence the reason if you don't know what or why I'm asking then don't reply in such a negative manner.

By the way I am visiting family there, I am only going to Disney for 1 or 2 days, does that really save me so much money? Don't get me wrong I can be dishonest and admit it. This is not where I was trying to save some money.

I have met very nice people on this board but this thread was just ridiculous.

 So why exactly did you ask? I'm not sure exactly what else could have been assumed from your question.

I must agree with the Op on this!

The Op is a newcomer to these boards & asked a simple question. There were some real nasty and very judgmental remarks left here. :guilty:

Simply a 'YES, because....." or "NO, because....." answer would have been sufficiant!

Just going by your other thread where you happen to be taking a 10 year old to WDW. It isn't judgmental to tell someone to be honest. Seems like I hit a sore spot!

I could be wrong, but I *think* that if you have a child ticket but then realize that you need an adult ticket because of the child's age you can ask them to upgrade it at the gate. Or if it's that you have days left on a child never-expiring ticket purchased when the child was younger, they may just let him/her use it anyway; I remember reading yesterday where someone was saying that that's what happened when they explained that their child was now 10.

If the ticket has been partially used, they will upgrade for free. If it hasn't been used, you will have to pay to upgrade it to a Guest 10+ ticket.
