Child Care/Kids Clubs at WDW ??? Anyone used the Sandcastle Club?

Food for thought! Thanks!

Does anyone know if there is something like this at Saratoga?

there is not one at Saratoga. the clubs are at:

Polynesian
Wilderness Lodge
Animal Kingdom
Beach Club
Grand Floridian - must be staying here or have a dining reservation here to use this club

All of them are open to anyone, except the Grand Floridian's. make reservations through Disney dining 800-WDW-DINE.

There is also one at the Dolphin, not run by Disney, IIRC you get a couple hours free if you have a dining reservation at one of the restaurants here.

We used the Sandcastle Club for our 2 kids on our trip last April. They were 9 and 4 and they had a ball. DD had her cell phone with her so I felt good knowing if she needed to talk to me or if her brother needed to talk to me they could whenever they wanted. We did also get a pager from the CM's. My kids had dinner there and had a fantastic time. They did not want to leave and begged to go back on another day. I did give my DD a call when they were there and she was having so much fun neither of them wanted to talk to me!!LOL That made me feel great! They colored, did arts and crafts, sand art, made key chains, had dinner and snacks, played games watched movies. It was really nice in there too. It was private and clean. They have a bathroom in there and the potty was low and so was the sink so it was easy for little ones to reach. They had so many toys and games my kids eyes lit up when they walked in there. They also had a section where the big tv was on the wall. There was a place for the kids to watch. They told me when it gets late, around 10pm they take all the kids to that section, give them milk or juice with cookies and put a movie on for them to watch with pillows and blankets! I would take my kids there again in a heart beat and they can't wait to go back!!

I have taken DD to the Neverland Club and she loved it there too. She was about 6 at the time and her brother was too young to join her but she loved it. Personally for me it was a little too dark in there and there were a lot of dark corners. When I went to pick up DD there was a little girl crying by herself in the one of these dark corners and no one noticed. I stood with her for awhile and not one CM came by! I comforted her and them found a CM to let them know they had a kid there who wanted her mommy! They were very good with my DD and she had no issues there at all. Only thing was the bathroom in there was filthy. I did tell someone and they seemed to get right on it. Because of my kids ages, and because my DD can look after her little brother I would let them go there because it is so cool the way it is decorated!

If I had a shy child and one that might not do too well on their own I would prefer the Sandcastle Club because it is smaller and the kids get more one on one attention. When our kids were there they were lucky because it was only them and one other kid with 3 CM's!!

My son loooooves the kids club. He really likes the Neverland Club at the Poly. Its great. We leave him there and then go eat at O'Hana. He has dinner and gets to play with lots of kids. He has also stayed at the kids club at the Wilderness lodge and the Sandcastle club. Neverland Club is the best but all are good. Have fun!!!

Okay, you have all convinced me to give it a try!! I called last night and reserved the Sandcastle Club! The kids are very excited!! :yay: :yay: DH & I are still a little nervous about the whole thing, but I think we are going to go through with it!

Thanks for all of your help and information! :goodvibes

None at Saratoga. I always thought they should have one over in that area. I mean there are several Disney resorts over there, plus Downtown Disney.

Just an update to this thread:

We went through with it!! :goodvibes We took the kids to the Sandcastle Kids Club one night a few weeks ago. They LOVED it!! It was not really what I expected when we dropped them off. I guess I was expecting something big and loud, but it was very small and quiet. Very low key. We felt very at ease leaving them (and we rarely go anywhere without our children). We took the boat over from Epcot and dropped them off and then DH and I walked back to Epcot and went to dinner at LeCellier. We had a nice and quiet relaxing dinner. And the kids really enjoyed their time away as well. They played video games and had dinner there. They were thrilled to not have to sit through another boring dinner with us!! :rotfl: After dinner we walked around World Showcase and then back over to the Beach Club to get the kids. They were there for a total of 2 1/2 hours.

We will definitely do it again. We might even try a different one!

Thanks for all the great advice!!
