Child Care Centers are available to those who are staying at Deluxe Hotels. Are these available to DVC members, as well? And if so, does this include those who rent points from a member?

Thanking you in advance

Yes, you will be able to use them. I believe I've had to give them my resort confirmation number when booking but that's it. I'm a DVC member but we have taken guests who stayed in separate rooms from us (would be similar to a renter) who have also used it.

Our home resort is BCV and we typically stay there so my experience is with the Sandcastle Club at BC. The kids love it.

They are available to anyone who wants a night out from the kids and is willing to pay the costs.

I believe anyone can use it. We are staying DVC next week and have a reservation for our kids one night. We have friends who made a reservation that same night who hadn't even booked their hotel yet, although they did that later.

And I think they are called Children's Activity Centers. The Child Care Centers are rooms in the parks where you can feed a baby, change a diaper, etc.

We used the Children's Activity Center (Sandcastle @ BCV) for the first time when we were contemplating becoming members and we were renting points from a DVC member. On our key cards was printed DVC MEMBER since the room was reserved on points. The Children's Center gave us the DVC discount (I think it's 15%?) because of this, nice unexpected DVC perk.

We've used it after becoming members as well (Sandcastle & Wilderness Lodge--Neverland Club, I think it's called), same key card designation, same discount!

My kids love what they call the "Kids' Club.":lovestruc And the DVC 15% discount perk is a nice bonus:thumbsup2

Have fun!

I think that children have to be at least three years old. The hours usually run from 4-4:30 until 12-12:30.

Hi, I am remembering the minimum age is 4 and max age is 12. I remember waiting on previous trips for my youngest to be old enough, so yes, now that I think about it, it's 4.:)

It is a must do for my DD7 since 4. She loves going. Great news is DH and I love our date nights out. Any one can use it as pp stated, and 15% off if you bring your DVC card, or show it on room key. They get dinner, n dress up, and tons of friends.

My kids loved The Sandcastle Club when we had a night out at Jellyrolls. They didn't want to leave! We got the discount with our member card.

Here's some information from the WDW website:

The kids' "centers of our world"

You'll find excellent Children's Activity Centers at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, including Simba's Cubhouse at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Sandcastle Club at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Each center is staffed by friendly Disney Cast Members who entertain children throughout the evening.

"These are areas that offer supervised children's activities daily from 4:30 p.m. to midnight. We welcome kids ages 3 to 12, so Mom and Dad can have a 'date night,'" said Scott. "Dinner and a late-night snack are included. The kids can play with other kids their age, enjoy video games, watch Disney movies, create craft projects and play with lots of toys."

All the above activities can be reserved at 407-WDW-PLAY (939-7529). Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

I'm not sure why they don't mention the Cub's Den at Wilderness Lodge, or the Neverland Club at the Poly.

If you eat in one of the more expensive restaurants in the Dolphin then you get the child care for free. I have never done this but am considering it for my next trip.

From reading above it wouldd appear that the BW does not offer a child activity center (babysitting).

so two Q's:

1- If we make dining ressies at say the Poly, where they offer the service can we take our DS there even if we are staying at the resort?

2- has anyone done the Dolphin resturant/free child care deal - can we walk there easily from the BW?

The walk from the Boardwalk to the Dolphin is about 3-7 minutes depending on which end of the Boardwalk you are. You could also get a boat which can be quite romantic at night.
