Hi there :) I was wondering if anyone has done the child/baby swap recently and knew what the policy is? And which attractions at DL and DCA use it?

We will be travelng with my 10 month old DGD her momDD20 and DD12 & DD17
How would this work? We all get in line and tell CM when it is our turn we will swap?
Could 2 DD's ride while 2 of us waited with DGD? Then swap? So nobody goes alone?
Sorry so many questions I just totaly forgot this was a possibility, it's been years since I have taken a baby. :cutie:
Thanks!

We have done child swap on:

Toy Story Mania
Splash
Space
Big Thunder
Matterhorn
California Screamin'
TOT

I think they would probably let you do it on any ride if you asked, but I could be wrong.

When you enter the line there is a CM and you just ask for the child swap card. 2 people can return using the child swap pass.

WOW I am really excited about the midway mania one! My DS makes us ride that over and over and over, so this way we can cut out some wait time!!

Oh thank you, I couldn't figure out when to tell the CM and kept hearing about a "pass" LOL
This will make a world of difference. I thought someone would have to sit out everytime.
Woohoo 22 days till we leave
:woohoo:

LuLu - combine your child swap and Fast Pass and it is even better. Get your FP's and then when you are ready to ride go to the FP entrance and tell the CM you need a Child Swap and they will give it to you (they have to see the child) go through the FP line and ride, come out and switch with whomever is next and use the Child Swap pass (it's good for 2 people).

Works great. We do it all the time!

Oh wow I had no clue you could do that:banana:
This will be a better trip than I had hoped thanks to everyone on this board!
I have been reading threads all month and taking notes. Even tho I have been more times than I can count there is always more to learn :flower3:
And what fun learning!

Also, TSM has a single rider line. They close it periodically during the day and close it about 45-60 min. before park closing. DD9 and I use it quite often. It really annoys her (to no end!) when they ask her age. You have to be 7 to ride alone and she's 9 1/2 (small for her age).

Besides TSM, the following at DCA have single rider lines:

Maliboomer
Mulholland Madness (DD and I ride first time together, then she goes it alone-I can see her the entire time)
Soarin'
Grizzly River Rapids
Screamin'

They can close the single rider lines at any time.

Single Rider is really terrific. :)

The general rule of thumb for rider switch is that there needs to be a height requirement that the child doesn't reach.

For things like Haunted Mansion and Toy Story...that's going to be up to the CM. Some might give you a pass, others won't. There might not even BE a pass for HM (sure do wish there was...I could have gone in '06 when DS absolutely flipped out b/c people like to "enhance" the stretching room by shrieking their lungs out even when there are children near them), I don't know, I didn't think to ask.

I think DGD will be fine on HM and POTC she sits well and stands on her own.
I remember with my other little ones having to hold their heads so they didn't bump. One of mine smacked her lip on the back of the seat in front on POTC
I learned the hard way on that one.
