chicken + waffles

OK so I found a couple of versions
the Pennsylvania dutch version seems to be like chicken ala king served on a waffle

soul food version seems to be waffles topped with fried chicken and either syrup or gravy.

When I was growing up, my Mom used to make creamed turkey over Eggo waffles. It was just chicken with a medium white sauce, but so delicious. She's from the south, but I've never heard of anyone else making it. I make it sometimes now and use either chicken or turkey. DD absolutely loves it.

Waffles with chicken? I say Blech. But I do love egg salad spread on a toasted Eggo, eat it like a piece of toast. Some people might think that sounds icky.

Haven't seen the movie or heard of any racist connotations, but I've heard of a restaurant that's like Joe's Chicken and Waffles. I think in LA.

That would be Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles and the food there is excellent! If you're ever in the area, this is one of the places to try among others...
