Anyone seen this yet? Which version? I am taking my 4 year old son on a "date" to see it tomorrow, the theatre has both versions. Opinions? Would the 3-D stuff be too overwhelming to him? He is sensitive to noises, crowds, etc so not sure how he would take it.

We saw it in 3D tonight. My son is 3 and he LOVED it! The 3D is just amazing...go for the 3D version.

I saw the regular. My daughter didn't feel like wearing the glasses. And it would have cost us $1.50 pp.

I'd ask him what he wants to see. I can imagine that this movie would looke really cool in 3D.

ETA: We were assured by Theater staff that otherwise the movies are identical and that this is digital 3D--not the same used for Spykids or that other bad movie that came out recently.

If you need a spoiler for your son--PM me. My girls were frightened at one part...but I easily figured out what was going on and let them know and then they weren't scared anymore--they were more :goodvibes .

Shark Boy and Lava Girl?

That's the one! OMG I had to take the kids TWICE to see that horrible movie! Then they wanted to see it again...their nanna took them to see it a third time.

Hopefully this new technology will catch on. I look forward to seeing more movies like this. The 3D glasses for this movie are like the ones you get for the 3D attractions at Disney World...I think they're the exact same ones.

My son is 3 and nothing scared him. They've been watching the previews for like two years now...so the aliens didn't scare them. I do have to admit though, in the 3D version, there are a couple of in-your-face effects that make you jump back a bit...or was I the only dork in the theater that did that???

We ended up going to the regular version, but I think we may go back and do the 3D version another weekend.

My son started getting a little scared in the alien part (I know because he sat there saying "I'm not scared, I'm not scared, I'm not scared... :rotfl: ) but he was only scared for about 30 seconds until he talked himself into not being scared.

Thanks for your opinions.

I haven't even heard of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, but I am going to be sure to stay away from it now!
