Chicken boy went on the thrill rides and begged to go again!!! **Updated 1/14!!)

Soarin' is one of my favorite rides in all the World... really hoping we can talk Mom into going on it for her first time. She's not a fan of heights and won't do thrill rides, but maybe we can convince her to do this one!

That is so cool that you got to get behind the scenes!

I thought I had seen on a Walt Disney World - behind the scenes type show, that they used cold packs or something in the costumes. Maybe I have lost my mind, too! I think it would be miserable having to walk around in those heavy costumes in the Florida heat and humidity. It sounds like you did your share of suffering, too. The show MUST go one heat or not....right?

if you ever come across that again I'd love to know what it is called. Sounds interesting!

We did it again. :lmao::lmao:

I only played Porky once for a parade and that was 15 or more years ago so I am sure that they have ice paks or something now. Unfortunatly they didn't at that time. All I know is I don't complain when the characters take a break because I know that the person inside needs to cool off.:

well thank you to anyone who is or was a character. I'm not sure I could even handle it indoors.

Sorry your dismeet didn't work out. I'm glad Liam enjoyed himslf on soarin. It's such a great ride!

Soarin' is definatly one of my favorite rides so I was super glad that Liam liked it. There is a ride at Epcot that he liked better, but I guess you will have to keep reading to see what it is.:thumbsup2

Good luck getting your Mom on Soarin' I am not sure if I could get my mom on. :lmao:

I am definatly respect those who put on those costumes. You are hot, have to deal with some dificult people, and still have to be happy.

I am definatly glad that Liam liked Soarin'. It was also a good sign that he was silling to try some more rides this time.

I love your pictures from Living with The Land! I really like that ride but I didn't take ANY pictures while we rode it this year! D'oh!!!! :confused3

:lmao::lmao:I probably wouldn't have taken any pictures it Liam wasn't pointing and saying, "Oh mom take a picture of that. Hey mom take a picture of that." :rotfl::rotfl:

So after we played in the ball for a while, we decided to head to the Seas with Nemo and friends.

DSCN1749.jpg

There were hordes of people shoving there kids up to the statues of the Fish so we decided we would get it later and headed to the ride. We went on the Nemo with very little wait. It was a cute ride, though I do think that Liam has grown out of this one. Though he was attentive during the ride, he didn't seem quite as excited as in others.:confused3

We than decided to head over to Turtle Talk with Crush.

09-11-06021.jpg

We really enjoyed this show last time, though Liam had special interaction with Crush. Once again the show was very good though Liam didn't have any special interaction this time. The only problem I had was they had us park the stroller in a very odd place and when we left I had to go under a roped section to get to it.:confused3

While we were trying to get to the stroller, I started to talk to Liam about the possibility of going on Test Track. This is one of those rides that Liam refused to go on last time but I thought that just maybe I could get him to go on this time. He agreed that he would try it, so we decided to explore the pavillion later and head off the Test Track. Unfortunatly we never got back. Now I know why people take two days to do Epcot. Lesson learned.

We were directed to the FP lane where we were put in the front of the Car with a boy about Liam's age from the single rider line. Liam became fast friends with him and soon became very happy for our luck. Liam forgot his fear for the ride and just enjoyed talking to his new friend. Soon we were enjoying test track and Liam LOOOOVVVVEEEEDDDD IT!!!! He amidiatly wanted to go again though we were both hungry and decided to head to WS for lunch. Here is a pic of Liam in the car display area after.

WaltDisneyWorld2011098.jpg

So with our bellies calling to be filled we headed off over the bridge toward WS. First we stopped at the Kim Possible area and got our passes to pick up our Kimunicators. This was definatly something Liam was looking foward to.

On our way over the bridge we were glad to see they hadn't gotten ride of all the topiaries from the garden festival .

WaltDisneyWorld2011101.jpg

We weren't able to pick up our Kimunicators in Norway until 1pm so we decided to head to Mexico to satisfy our hunger craving. First of all I stopped to take this picture.

WaltDisneyWorld2011102.jpg

I saw this picture on another thread and really wanted to take one of my own while I was here. You can see the beautiful sight of Morrocco across the lake and blending in perfectly in the background is Tower of Terror. Got to love that Disney Magic.:thumbsup2

Knowing where I wanted to eat we headed to Mexico for La Cantina de San Angel

We waited in line for about 5 min in which I had to explain to Liam that he could only order from the Kids menu because he really wanted to order the nachos. It would be nice if they would offer kids portions of the dishes they serve for adults. They already have the food, how hard is it to put less of it on a plate and call it a kids portion.:confused3

We order our food and started to look around for a seat. All of the seats outside were jammed full, fortunatly from my knowledge from the Dis forum I knew there were indoor seating and headed inside. There were a lot of seats inside and we got a great table right from our window.

Here is the view.

WaltDisneyWorld2011104.jpg

Here is a picture of our lunches.

WaltDisneyWorld2011103.jpg

Liam got chicken tenders with chips and grapes. I got the Tacos de Carne.

WaltDisneyWorld2011105.jpg

I ordered Churros con Cajeta for dessert and since there was 4 of them I split them with Liam and we put the grapes in our bag to enjoy later.

The food was definatly very tasty. Especially the churros in which Liam and I both loved. The carmel sauce was devine. We did get a cup of cheese with the meal and I never did find out if it came with mine or Liam's meal. It didn't matter, because Liam decided it made an excellent dipping sauce for his chicken. There was very little left of it when we got to our chips.

Yay, glad to hear he loved TT! It's one of our favorites in all of WDW. My DDs both agree it's best to ride at night!

I had no idea there was indoor seating available for La Cantina! We had lunch there last year and sat outside. Our table was mostly in the sun and it was HOT. Where do you go for the indoor tables?

Hi, I'm late joining in and trying to catch up! :)
How bad were the crowds in Epcot on memorial day? We may be doing the same thing next year!

After a busy stretch of time in real life, I am finally getting back to the boards and playing catch up!

Love reading your TR. I also had no idea there was indoor seating there, we ended up in the very busy outside roaming for a table when we went in 2009.

Can't wait to hear more, and hopefully I won't be MIA for so long!!

So glad to hear Liam made another friend and forgot about his TT worries. :goodvibes

Your food looks delicious! Looking forward to hearing if you guys got back on TT later and how KP went. KP was something we wanted to do, but ran out of time. :sad2:

As we left we noticed that the line for Mickey Mouse was 00. So who could resist that?

Wahoo for a good plan to resist exit crowds ( I learned this technique from fellow DISers and totally enjoyed our exits from all parks in a non crazy way!)

and :banana: for 00 wait for Mickey. I love being able to "translate" from the characters!

So we were about 20 feet away from rope drop, we could see the characters come out but not hear them so at that point I didn't even bother with the rope drop show.
......

We both enjoyed the ride and thought it was very intresting how they were able to grow the food and raise fish in desert like conditions.
.

Is there an actual rope drop SHOW? We never made rope drop anywhere, though our ferry pulled in to MK as they were finishing that show, so I know it exists:rotfl::rotfl:

We completely missed the whole LAND pavilion witt Soarin' It just didn't happen - I think that we strayed too far from my plans. oh well, that means there are still "never dones" for next time. We've done Soarin, but never The Land

what a great epcot morning...and its only lunch!:yay:

TT definatly went to the top of the list of rides at WDW for both of us. I love the part right before the speed test. You know what I mean if ypu've been before but I don't want to ruin the suprise for anyone not yet on it.

If you go past the cashier area and keep following the building toward the lake you will see a set of doors on the left. That will bring you to the inside seating area. I think it isn't well known because while everyseat outside was crowded there were plenty of seats inside the relaxing air conditioned building.

Glad to have you here mrssmith06. I am always happy to see people injoying my TR. Memorial day was pretty crowded though I hear that MK was a mad house. I think that Epcot works better when it's busy because it is so large so that there is more room to spread it out. It was also nice because they did something special at the show in America that I will tell you all about soon.

Thanks MARsMamma, I am glad you like the TR. While the TR is for me and Liam it nice to know other people are enjoying it as well. I listed where the entrance to the inside is earlier in this post so hopefully you can enjoy the inside area.

I know what you mean when you said MIA, but I first thought why were you writing about my DD Mia.LOL.[

Liam was making friends left and right, and times like this it definatly was to our advantage. I guess you will have to keep reading to find out and yes I will tell you about KP.

It was definatly a plus to not have to fight through that crowd, and seeing Mickie & Minnie with no wait was definatly a bonus. Definitly something I will have to try when I go with Mia.

I don't know if there was an actual show because we couldn't hear a thing and saw very little. All I know was there were characters out and they were doing something. That was the closest we got to any ropedrop show.

We still have a huge list of never dones and glad that future trips to the World will have a little bit of mystery to them.

Thanks, hope you enjoy our day after lunch as well, we sure did.

THANK YOU for the info! I will keep this in mind, in case we decide to have a QS in Mexico.

*pokes his head in* I am still alive, just swamped with real life.... glad to hear liam was interested on the living with the land boat ride. Skye loved it too, I spent the whole time telling her the names of things.

Glad you made RD and also glad that Liam decided to ride TT! I was SUPPOSED to be at RD that same morning but I made the mistake of waiting on my sister's family instead of going ahead without them! Oh well!

I didn't know there was inside seating at the Mexico QS either! Of course I haven't even tried eating there in years but now I know if I try in the future! When I saw the picture of your food, I thought that was their attempt at chicken nachos and I was :confused3 ! Then I read that it was chicken tenders and I had to laugh at my self!

We just might head to Mexico for a bite to eat now that we know there's indoor seating:thumbsup2

Glad to see you still around Singledad, I was getting a little worried about you. I recently asked Liam what his favorite ride were at WDW and he listed Living with the Land amoung his top 10. Who would have known.:confused3

I know what you mean. I planned to make it to a few rope drops during our Wish trip. Of course it is easier to get you and your kids (which is not always easy) up when you want, but you include another family (or my case my brother) things fly up into the air.:lmao:

I am glad I was able to help people with the knowledge of indoor seating. The food was very good, but than I enjoy mexican food. Yum. Funny how you thought the chicken was a taco. I do think it strange that they don't offer more options for kids that could be mexican. Really would it be that hard.

I definatly recommend it. The food was definatly good and sitting inside in the heat was very nice. At first I was worried that I wouldn't be full because I am not one to really munch on tortilla chips, but the three tacos were very filling.

Epcot looks fun so far!

It was and we definatly had a blast.

Oh, I'm so glad Liam is enjoying the rides!
The meals in Mexico look very tasty!

I was very happy that Liam was trying new rides and enjoying them. The trend did not remain, but at least he was trying them, it was more than I could hope for. The meal at the Cantina was definatly very tasty.:thumbsup2
