Chicco Umbrella Style Stroller - best price

I'm looking to buy this stroller for Disney i saw the Caddy for 49.99 and the c-5 for 59.99

Do you have and like this stroller?

Best place to purchase it - any discounts for baby stores?

We have had this stroller for almost a year and love it. It is lightweight and folds up easily....great for travelling. We got it a while ago at Babies R Us....don't remember the price....but that sounds like a good deal. Good luck

I bought a Caddy at Babyuniverse.com for $49 and free shipping. I liked the stroller, but I found the canopy annoying when it was folded back. The velcro didn't hold really well, and when it slipped, the whole cover slid off. Maybe it was just mine, though. It also didn't recline enough for us. I sold it on ebay and bought a Combi that I like better. Just my 2 cents.

We bought the c5 for our 2 year old in May. We love it!! It is very compact but comfortable for him to sit in. The seat belt is also nice as it is a padded 5 point belt and deters him from leaning over and toppling out. It also has a handy basket underneath. My husband is 6'1 with size 13 feet and he always hated pushing our other strollers because he would inadvertently kick the bar in the back with each step. This one does not do that so he happily strolls our son in it at every opportunity. Since we bought this stroller we have not used any of our other ones. We love that it folds umbrella-style and even has a built in carrying handle. It only weighs 11 pounds, I think. Personally we thought that it reacted the same as the more expensive MacClaren model as well as looked nicer than the MacClaren. Mine was 89.99 at Babies r' us and we think that it was worth every penny! 59.99 would have been even more awesome , though!!!

I went to Babies r us to look at it again, and it is the Capri for $59.99 i think it has the newer canopy not the square looking one, so anyway i thought i'd wait for coupons, but i was looking at the boxes and one of them was the older model i guess with the square canopy which i've seen for $49.99 on the computer so i asked the man working if he can check the price - he gave me such a hard time oh its the same thing older box etc i said no can you please check the price i want to see if its 49.99 like i've seen on the internet and finally he took it and said it scanned for $29.99 i said i'll take it.

I'm really happy it has a small carry space on the bottom - i am happy that it reclines just a bit - i really only want it for disney - my 4 year old is a light weight at 30lbs - and he'll definitly need to sit a bit and my older son whom is 6 is over the weight limit at 46 pounds but he was able to fit in it without his knees up in his chin for when he needs a break as well.............

we have the caddy that is (I think) from the year before they started putting the basket underneath. I liked it OK, but we just bought a Maclaren Triumph and it is WORLDs better. We still have the Caddy, so i can make a side by side comparison --

-the caddy is MUCH less comfortable to push. the handles are not padded (don't know if they are on the newer model) and they are at just the wrong height. you can also push the maclaren w/one hand, and you could never do that w/the caddy. it also has handles that are shaped more ergonomically and are padded.
-the caddy is less comfy to sit in. the edge of the seat (where little legs rub against) is not as padded as the Maclaren
-the caddy is not as easy to fold up. I LOVE the way the maclaren folds. the chicco is tricky (unless they have changed this, too) and at times i have almost had to put it in the back of our SUV w/out folding it up b/c i got so frustrated!

i know the Maclaren is more expensive, but we were able to buy a 2005 model at just over 100 online (w/free shipping and no tax). i really thought it was worth the price difference.

go try both out at Babies R Us or Toys R Us...then buy whichever one online...

OOPS!! JUst read that you already bought the caddy. you got a great price for it! nothing major wrong w/it, it's just once you've tried the maclaren, you can't go back! also, your kids are older, so you probably have less need for one than we do (we have a 3 1/2 yr old and a 16 month old).

Like I Said - My Youngest Is Almost 4 1/2 Really Want It For Disney It Does Seemmuch Better Then The Cheapo Umbrealla Strollers.

So, was this the Chicco Caddy?

I am trying to figure out a stroller for my 4 year old as well as my 6 year old to take a break in. I have the same problem with our current one being too weighed down.

We have a Babie-R-Us I can check out around here...any tips on finding the one you did? What did the box look like? Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Go to babies r us - look for the Chicco capri stroller they are selling for 59.99. It is a rounded canopy and if you look at all the boxes underneath the stroller if you see one that has a square looking canopy have it scanned! Hope you have luck.

I also have a 4 & 6 year old - i had my 6year old sit in it and it wheeled fine. My son is 47 lbs and it says good for up to 37lbs BUT he fit pretty well in it. As i said -- its more for my 4 year old and pretty much just for Disney - perhaps other times for my 4 year old.
