DNiece is getting married in October and needs a good wedding photographer. We used Edward Fox, but that was 13 years ago so I don't know if there is someone more "in".

This poor girl needs a break, her rehearsal dinner was booked at the Mill Race Inn which abruptly closed last week and she has some lingering medical bills that are hanging over her.

The wedding be in the Elgin/Geneva area if that helps.

Well, fortunately it was only the rehearsal dinner & she does have time to straighten that out. I wish her very good luck w/ the medical bills AND I hope her health is excellent, too!

Mill Race Inn closed?!?? That is too bad!

My sister used Kristina Carter and she is amazing..... her style is more of that journalistic style that is popular. The pics turned out great and Kristina herself is so sweet.

For more a more traditional wedding photographer, I would recommend Alex Claney - I used him for my wedding 15 years ago and was very happy.

Thanks all! Yes, she does have time to change the venue for the rehearsal dinner, she was just sad because she has fond family memories there and wanted to gather everyone together. The Mill Race just shut the doors last week, totally unexpected but I guess they have had financial issues tied to flooding in the area and the economy.

I will pass on the photographers, always good to hear personal experiences. Keep em coming!

I know some people who like Kramer photography in Naperville, but no idea how they are for weddings/prices. Bummer on Mill Race Inn...DH used to go there years back when we could afford a nice dinner out. Such a pretty location and yeah, a lot of tradtional family get togethers were held there.

I've only been there once but am sad to hear it closed. My family tends to gather at White Fence Farm. Just thinking about their corn fitters has my mouth watering.

We live in Geneva and were sad to hear about Mill Race closing last Sunday. We highly recommend Alex Claney - did not use for our wedding (We used Kramer) but have lots of friends and family who have used and been extremely satisified and his prices are very comparable. Good Luck!
