Chicago Trib reports banning taking food pics!! (New York chef)

Yeah, and it turns out it was a New York chef troublemaker. It was just reported in the Chicago Tribune and as AM radio fodder.

Okay....its one uptight psycho chef in NYC...guess I won't be going to his restaurant anytime soon. Figures though, we always have to have some nut job here on the east coast to give us a bad rap. We are a stones throw from the city and enjoy dining up there from time to time. Now if they start banning foie gras here...then we are in trouble.

If you can remember back to my Larded and Loaded report, I saw Rick Tramonto at the PFTS. He was the one with the Lobster Bisque shooters that I was going ga-ga over.

The chef in the article is from NEW YORK, not Chicago. The Chicago newspaper carried the story, but the chefs they quoted from Chicago all said they allowed photos; one did not like flashes being used which makes sense. I agree the foie gras thing here was pretty silly, but I do like to defend my hometown when necessary!

I am so surprised so many posted hearing me on the K&J show!!! I've actually gone to 3 Girlfriend Conventions - Only I dont have any friends that actually listen to the show, so I didnt try to get tickets to this year's show!!!

FYI, the ban on foie gras has been lifted, so that's one less embarrassing food issue for Chicago!

LOL! Flintstone steak! That's exactly what we were calling it all night! Boy was it tasty! I can't wait to go back - that is, as soon as the Visa recovers! They have a 2000 bottle wine cellar and of course, we had to try some. We got a nice bottle of Prosecco to start and then had our red with the Tomahawk. I promise to PM you the next time we're headed into the city for a big dinner. We'd love to have you join us! Alinea is still on our radar for next year. Maybe we can con Brenda into coming to Chicago for a foodie event! Alison, of course, you would be invited, as well as anyone else who would be interested! Next spring would be a perfect time to plan something...
