Chicago to Orlando

We are leaving January 18th 2003, returning January 26th, 2003.

There are 5 of us going.

I checked on Southwest and it would be $925 with taxes.

Is that a good price?? Seems WAY out of our budget. Considering that Orlando is like the #1 tourist destination, I would have though I could find something for maybe $130 per person...

That translates to $185 round trip per person and that includes the taxes. Though sometimes it gets lower, anything below $200 per person round trip from Chicago is considered a very good deal.

Did you try ATA? I have found them to have excellent deals lately unless you don't like midway? MKY Try www.ata.com

I only fly from ORD so I don't check Midway prices but over the past fer years anything on the $190 to $210 per person is a good fare. You might want to check Spirit Airlines (spiritair.com) there was just an ad on tonight about some fare sale and I know they do the ORD to MCO route.

I think your still a little too far off in the future.

There is a sale on the American site right now for $128 RT from Ohare. But it is only valid until Dec. 11. I often see sales with a similar price on the AA.com site. Your Sunday return may make it difficult to find a great deal also, this is the most popular day for return passengers from Florida. In fact the AA sale has the following restrictions: Fares shown are valid for travel to Florida Monday through Thursday and from Florida Tuesday through Friday

I got $176 on American from ORD to MCO (I like them because of the extra legroom). That was with taxes etc. included for January. Keep checking Orbitz...that's where I find my deals. We usually end up on ATA, but sometimes American or United get into fare wars with the low cost carriers.
