Chicago playing last night of Mardi Gras

I never thought I would camp out for hours in front of the stage to get up close at one of the concerts at Universal,spent about 4 hours just sitting there waiting for the concert to start at 8:30.I didn't even get to catch any beads or see the parade,but in the long run it was probably worth it as Chicago was great and we literally had one of the best views in the park.I probably have 30 pounds of beads I've caught over the years so I guess missing out on the parade one time is OK.

It was such a nightmare in the park, you definitely made a good decision to camp by the stage because it was pure bedlam out on the street.

After the parade it was so dangerous trying to get out of there. People were swarming and they had barricades which made trying exit even more cramped. We headed backwards towards Mel's Diner and then around to get out and took our time to avoid the crowds. I was truly afraid my kids were going to get trampled. Never again!

Imagine trying to get through that crowd with a stroller - it was nearly impossible. Worth it though - the Mardi Gras parade was awesome!

Yeah...Universal really needs to look at their handling of Mardi Gras...it's gotten more popular and they don't have the needed personnel to handle the crowds.

I thought they did better this year than in years past with the crowd control. And I only missed about three concerts this Mardi Gras.
