Ok, the majority of the votes seem to favor December 17th for the meet!

So, our Culvers/Gurnee Mills meet will be on Sunday, December 17th. We will meet at the Culvers in Gurnee, which is east of 94 on the north side of Grand Ave (just about across from Six Flags). Their address is 1505 Nations Drive. According to their calendar online, the Flavor of the Day that day is Cinnamon Apple Crisp. (Yum)

Mac and I were thinking that we should probably meet there at 11:15-ish am to get there before the lunch crowd.

After lunch, we can decide if we want to head over to Gurnee Mills to shop, or maybe see a movie.

Please post here if you think you can attend so we can all get an idea of who's coming. Hope to see many of you there!

I think we can make it, tho I haven't talked to DH yet But go ahead and put us down for 4 (me, DH, Chrissy and Matthew). If it is snowing and accumulating that morning, we most likely won't make it, so pray it's a nice day! Thanks, Mac and Jedi!!

DD and I may make it to this one...been trying to find a group in N.IL..I pin trade so always traveling down to Addison each month for those meets..

For ref: The golden Corral right across the street has a meeting room that is FOC M-Th. Just need to call and make a ressie for the room and a head count..If less than 15 people they will share the room with 2 groups so better off having more than 30 people..Not everyone has to eat that shows either just let the MGR know how many eating/how many not...

the golden corral is packed constantly.
the room would have to be reserved in advance.

they have added on to the back of the parking lot at golden corral as they do not have sufficient parking. they did not expect to be that crowded.

i might get there real early and eat some dessert before the gang comes...

don't park in the lot in front of bass pro shop, it will be packed.


park on the north side parking lot and go thru that entrance. even near vanity fare is good also to park at. ususally more spaces available there.

Disneyland Hotel 10 years ago.

LOL yes! I should dig up my photos from that trip, too! That was probably
the best trip ever, even though we did meet Paul Pressler.

For those who are reading and going, "What are they talking about??",
Jedi and I used to work at the same Disney Store. They had offered
cast members a chance to participate in a trip to DL. I'm not sure if
we were on the first or second the Walt Disney Travel Co offered.

At any rate, it was mid-May of 1996. Jedi and I roomed together, and
we met TDS cast members from all over the country. We were treated
like VIPs and had opportunites to do things that regular guests can't.

1. Backstage tour of DL, where Paul Pressler posed for a photo op with the
group.

2. Tour of the Burbank Studios, where Don Hahn showed us the first 15
minutes of "Hunchback of Notre Dame" the DAY after it was finished.

3. Special goodies, like the MSEP hat that lit up. The parade was in it's
"Farewell Season" (haha) at DL, and the parade cast loved our hats. At
the farewell dinner, the cast members of TDS were presented with the
nametags with the MSEP farewell season on them, with our names on them.
I know I have it somewhere...

We also took a side trip to L.A. to see "Beauty and the Beast", and we
went to the "home base" of the Disney Store in Glendale. Add a few days
to play at DL, and it was a special trip to remember.

The best part was that Jedi had never been to any Disney park before .
I had fun watching her experience a Disney park for the first time, but as
a DL newbie myself, I found myself awed by much of it. Because I was
so familiar with WDW, the entire west side of DL was confusing my sense
of direction. LOL!

Anyway, it will be fun to see some familiar faces again.
