i definitely think this is where we're going to stay on our trip at the end of the year/january.

last time we stayed at santa fe, just based on price, but Cheyenne looks a lot better for value.

do they take requests for which building you'd like to stay in? (love to surprise my DH with the jesse james building as thats his name!)

are all the rooms the same aside from the beds set up (doubles vs bunk)?

can anyone give me advice on the packages and the best ways to book? particularly any aussies.

last time we went to DLP was a few years ago and we just booked last minute on expedia.

i remember DLP having pretty good deals though with the hotel, park and breakfast.

how should prices be around mid jan?

our other option was in between christmas and new year, but i assume mid jan would be better? i think the french school holidays are over by then and it's still winter..

I am not sure if they take requests you could possibly email them your request a few days before check in as this is apparently when they allocate the rooms.

All the rooms we have stayed in here are the same and they have all came with a double and a set of bunk beds.

Between xmas and new year was very very busy this year. I assume it will be cheaper in January but the only way to find out is to get some quotes.

Prices come down for mid January as its low season, the down side to this many restaurants are closed and they tend to do ride maintenance around this time. Weather is also unpredictable but then so is Christmas. People who have been recently have all said how busy it was between Christmas and New Year but leading upto Christmas was quieter.

All the rooms are the same at the Cheyenne, whilst they can't guarantee any requests it doesn't hurt to ask, you could fax the hotel about a week before you go so when it comes to allocation they will have your request.

Have a look on other countries sites for deals as you can book through any off them, everything gets emails so you don't need to worry about your home country. Booking online means paying all upfront, booking on the phone depending on time for trip will have a deposit then pay the rest 30/60 days before you go depending on what country you book with. Booking direct means you get hotel, breakfast and passes for duration of stay

Just to mention - we stayed in Hotel Cheyenne just before Christmas. The whole hotel is looking a little...run down. We had major problems unlocking our room every day as the key card contraption wasn't always connecting, and the wall paper peeling a bit in the room. Can't complain about the cleanliness.

It's a shame as the theme is great, and as long as you're expecting it, it's not a problem. We're going to try the Santa Fe in October as it's the same price recently been renovated - it's Cheyenne's turn to be renovated I think!

All the hotels will be refurbished eventually, the Newport Bay is the next which will take a fair while due to the size of it

We asked for a ground floor room in a certain building last time and got it. So I do believe they take requests. I emailed them about 10 days in advance and got a reply back that they would try their best and upon arrival we got exactly what we asked for.

You will find the same in most hotels. A lot of the hotels we stay at here in the UK and a few such as Explorers, Magic Circus and Dream castle the keys kept deactivating on us. They said it happens if you keep it near your mobile phone.

The cards themselves were fine! It was the reader! The whole thing moved in the wall and we had to keep pushing it up or down to allow the card to even go in properly!! lol

We booked our hotel Cheyenne stay (room only) for this past December on ebookers.com and you could also try booking.com and hotels.com . Maybe laterooms.com too?

Expedia do great deals - Cheyenne is currently £40 for February. You could get a deal just as ace :)
