We are off to Chessington on Sunday.

I read on here (I think) that Crush in DLP is similar to Dragon's Fury at Chessington.

Can anyone confirm this?, as I very nearly wet myself when I went on Dragon's Fury last year and don't want that to happen if I go on Crush in June.....!

:upsidedow

My boyfriend and I work at Chessington he operates Dragons Fury and I have ridden both that and Crush's coaster, now Crush's coaster is 10 times better than Dragons Fury... it's smoother, more unpredictable and you spin more I think too. Also the theming is waaay better.
The scare factor is worse for Crush only because you don't know what to expect as it is in the dark, but thrill wise it is the same as Dragons Fury.
I say go on it!

By the way, Chessington isn't open this Sunday, it opens next week :)

I really don't think I could go on it again.

Well, maybe if the queue is tiny....and it isn't raining.......maybe!

It shall be both, it's gonna be sunny on sunday and the park will have about 6000 guests which means it will be quiet :)

Yes - they're the same manufacturer, same ride type, same car type etc

If you didn't get on well with the spinning etc of dragon's fury then I would expect crush's to be the same - possibly worse as the darkness can mae it very disorientating (I know my way round the dlp coasters very well, but don't have a clue for crush's because of the combination of the dark and the spinning).

What is a normal average day guest-wise? ie, normal day for me being a Sat/Sun or Summer Holiday day?

Just as a note for those interested

WH SMith are running a promotion if you buy anything in store you get give 2 for 1 vouchers for lots of theme parks including Chessington and Alton Towers. probably a lot more but i can't remember what.

Just in case anyone is interested

When kids are at school, that is definately the best time to go because there can be about 3000 guests, whereas on the weekend it can be 7000, during the summer around 10,000 - 15,000 a day.

Thinking about it, this sunday is probably gonna be about 3000 actually, queues for the bigger rides will be 15-20 mins max

If I were working you'd see me operating Vampire or Black Buccaneer, oh nevermind lol :P
