We changed our park days around a bit and the only 5:00ish ADR we could get at Epcot is Chefs de France (unless we did a buffet...)

WDYT? Is it any good? Dh and I will eat anything - we'll also have ds-4 and dd-18 mos. I really haven't read up on it because it wasn't on our list.

Any opinions are welcome!

Thanks!

I consider Chefs de France to be the best dining experience in the theme parks. The food is so good there, that they're even able to elevate something as simple as the ham and cheese sandwich (at lunch) into "cuisine". At dinner, it is a truly wonderful fine dining experience.

It's OK. Ate there a few times and the waiters, for some reason, seem to be a bit on the snooty side, in our opinion.
I guess the other thing is that the portions are not very large for the price.

We had dinner there in December and we thought the food was good, but not excellent. However, my niece specificially requested that we have dinner there on this trip, which is mostly due to the attractiveness of the wait staff.

We ate here for the first time last December for dinner on the Candlelight Processional package. It is now by far my favorite restaurant at WDW. I went there with extremely low expectations (my brother's choice and the rest of us were not thrilled with going) as I assumed French food was just two bites of food, made pretty on a plate with sauces drizzled everywhere, and a price tag of $75. That and I was expecting not very good service. It was nowhere near any of this. Our server was so nice! He talked with us about France and asked if we had ever been and different things to do there. He was very nice (not over the top, in your face; just made sure we were all taken care of). On the Candlelight Processional package you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert. My brother and I had the cheese sampler for an appetizer and it came with maybe 6-8 different small wedges of cheeses. It was very interesting to try the different kinds of cheese (I love bleu cheese but that one is SO strong but addicting!). My dad had escargo, which he loved. All of us had the grilled tenderloin of beef (which was HUGE!!) and it was delicious! I had the creme puffs with ice cream and chocolate sauce drizzled on it. It came with three large creme puffs cut in half with ice cream in between. It looked beautiful but the creme puffs were hard and not as light and flaky as I expected, I pretty much just ate the ice cream. But it was far and beyond what any of us expected! It feels just like what you would expect a busy French cafe/restaurant to feel like. We're going there for lunch on our next trip. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

We went last year and we really enjoyed it. I have read a lot of bad reviews but this was actually one of our favorite meals. Our waiter was very professional in the sense of he explained the menu and gave us suggestions but didn't talk much other than that but he was pleasant and very attentive. This was one of the places we actually recieved better service and we didn't have to wait to be seated. My husband had duck which he never had before and he loved it and I had the chicken which I shared with my son and it was really good. Now the dessert was my favorit of any I had while there. We got a dark chocolate mousse with ice cream. The mousse was to die for if you like dark chocolate.

HTH,
Angela

I was pleasantly suprised at how good it was. I suggest you always try something atleast once and decide for yourself!
